But I don't think she's making the black toast pottery jars any more, just the tins. She used to make some really beautiful, bigger pottery biscuit barrels, years ago.

And unless you can find a supplier near you (and they pop up in odd places) it will cost you something like $100 to get an $8 can shipped from Stoke on Trent. ouch

I'm hoping there are more suggestions....I'm looking for the same thing. I'd like them for my baking center. One for each, flour, sugar, brown sugar, and powdered sugar.

Right now my supplies are in tupperware-like containers in the pantry and I like how they are wide open on top, easy to get ingredients out.

LOL BeckTheEng...mine are as well (Tupperware & in the pantry)! I have the old bright green ones! I agree on their utility, but they really don't fit my new kitchen for sitting out, but maybe it doesn't matter as I'm not sure I want them sitting out.

But I do like the first ones posted! If only they had a powdered/confectioner's sugar canister...or even "personalized"...that would be even better (without the $100 shipping fee)!

Williams-Sonoma has something similar, with a small steel/chrome plate to identify the contents. I tried to attach a link but it crashed, so just go to the WS website and type "canister."

If you aren't afraid of a little sandpaper and spray paint, I've bought cheap vintage ugly-but-in-great-shape canisters on ebay, and I plan to scuff up the old paint and repaint and relabel to match my kitchen design.

Why can't there just be a website with white ceramic canisters of varing sizes & you choose the lettering...

Seems so simple.

if you want to get creative, check out uppercaseliving.com. You can get the lettering in all sizes, colors and fonts and then put them on any canister you want. SO easy!

You might try Stonewall Kitchen; I believe I saw some on their website.

Cost Plus has some cute white canisters, but I think the lettering is blue. I was actually very tempted by them myself.

My DD got some pottery ones a few years back from Target...as I am not at her house I can't take a pic, but I have a pic on my computer of my DGD..you can see them in the backround....isn't she cute!

My DD also said she saw some there recently that look nice. If you have a Target near you , it woun't hurt to look there. Also here is a link to tin ones that Target has on their web ste.

So far I really like the Cost Plus and the English Baker ones (but they are $$).

This is from same line as the Target ones Nauset linked. They have a bunch (coffee, tea..). They're pretty cute & I like the different label options.

I really want the white ceramic pottery with plain black lettering, though. They're out there somewhere..

Do you have a local artist/pottery place nearby? A few years back, DH was looking for special Canisters all over &
hit the jackpot by having someone make them to his specifications...I don't recall them being too pricey either. Ours are cream-colored & still beautiful. I hope this helps!

Looks like Target has WS type in stock nowÂthey are not on their web site, probably a new item in storesÂmight be worth a trip.
