barb - do you read the followups ??? 2 people have told you that it doesn't take much longer (if at all) for the condenser versions of that dryer to work than the vented one. You have stumbled upon a goldmine of info as the chances of someone haveing both models and you finding them are pretty slim and you've got 2. Now you're ignoring them or questioning their sincerity? One said your probably gonna have less dry time than your used to now. Anyway your just going to have to live with however long it takes to dry anyway if you want a condenser dryer to eliminate the humidity producing "box". Of course it's going to take longer toi dry somehing in humid Hawaii thne it will in dry Montana or airid Phoenix, but you just have to live with that. It'll apply to any dryer choice you make. Will you be able to notice teh xtra time, doubtful unless you sit and time the cycle, and then you'd obviously have plenty of time on your hands anyway, so as to make the cycle time moot anyhow! The euro's have timed dry and sensor dry. choose more dryness in sensor mode or increase the time = dry clothes. This is not new technology since a huge % of Europeans are highrise dwellers these types of units make sense for many. This design dind't just fall off the truck to dupe Americans in luxury condos. Cleaning the condensing matrix is a 15 min job tops if you use brushes. I spray mine down in the sink and it's about a 4 min. task. Unit is accesible from the front of machine, clicks in and out. Are you paying attention? The entire manual is readable at Bosch's website, why don't you give it a look. Heimert - the tube for the water on a condenser dryer drains from the dryer into the wastepipe for the washer. The OP's current setup is a bucket o/water attached to the dryer vent pipe. The water has to be there to trap lint. That whole shotin match just vents back into the condo.

Eleena, Sorry, I don't know the model number of my LG set in my other condo. (You had asked that on a different thread.) It is not a compact unit, however. It is what I believe is now called a mid size at about 3.6cu feet capacity or so. I used it regularly until about a year ago, and now use it a couple of times a month. As I have a larger space in that condo, I did not need a compact. I had no problems, I thought it washed and rinsed well. It has a warm rinse option, which I like, but LG no longer offers. It also has an internal heater and sanitary cycle. I know mine is a discontinued model, but I purchased it new in late 2009 or very early 2010. For the 4 years prior to that time, I lived with a Bosch Axxis set, which was in a laundry closet off the kitchen of my then house. I really liked it, too, and never had a tech call for anything. I don't remember the model numbers, and they are probably no longer available, but the set was purchased new in late 2004. They dryer was vented and I remember that both were the top of the line Bosch models at that time. I know I posted on a different thread that my Asko tech said he was always servicing LGs and and they had lots of problems. I didn't pursue that topic with him and now I wonder if he was referring to the TL LG models, which based on what I have read on this forum, seem to have more complaints. My neighbor at my other condo has an older full size FL LG set on pedestals (purchased in about 2004). She has more vibration, but other than that has been very pleased. We just bought the whirlpool duet washer to replace a 10-yr old Kenmore front loader with bad bearings (got my money's worth on that one-LOL!) We chose it because it is one of very few washers that would fit under the laundry room counter; it's 36" tall. Very happy with it so far. We are a family of three and, even though we seem to generate a lot of laundry, I often have trouble filling the washer. There is a small load option, so it's not a big issue. The old kenmore was smaller, and I would have preferred to go a tad smaller than the 3.5 cu. ft. whirlpool, but we live in a small town in a rural area and wanted to ensure that local appliance guys could service our washer if necessary. If I were buying a washer for just me, I would get the smaller capacity. 3.5 cu. ft. is BIG! OK, it's handy if you have a pile of towels, but that's it. Good luck.

There are several models of the AXXIS line in the US. We own the was24460uc. It is a very good washer. See my previous posts on it. As for dryer, we have a Siemens condensor dryer next to it (not stacked). Siemens and Bosch are essentially the same company and the same product. Siemens pulled out of the US market about 1-2 years back and they rely solely on the Bosch name now. Quality should be the same. The condensor dryers are very nice option if you don't have a vent handy. This dryer went in the basement and there was no easy (meaning inexpensive) way to vent. It does a pretty good job. You will NOT get that crisp dry that you may be used to with a vented dryer, but it will get the clothes dry. Don't believe what your handyman said about Miele. We own their products too and they are just as good if not better than the Bosch. They do cost more though. In addition they stopped offering their 220V washer models in the USA. For washers in the compact range, Bosch is the best in the US right now.
