Not Sol's but I got this one from Southern Living way back and we love it (especially with a spon straight out the jar but don't tell anyone)

Hot Fudge Chocolate Sauce

1 (8-ounce) package unsweetened chocolate baking squares
ý cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
â teaspoon salt
Method

1. Melt chocolate and butter in a large, heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Add sugar, stirring until dissolved. Add milk, and cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. (Do not boil.) Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract and salt. Cover and chill leftover sauce up to 2 weeks.
2. To reheat: Microwave sauce in a glass bowl at HIGH 1 minute. Stir and microwave at HIGH 1 more minute or until sauce is thoroughly heated.
Notes

Whiskey-Hot Fudge Sauce:

3 tablespoons Southern Comfort
Stir in Southern Comfort with vanilla extract, and salt

Espresso-Hot Fudge Sauce:

2 tablespoons instant espresso
Add espresso with sugar

Oh-Merciful-Heavens-Hot-Fudge Sauce (Sol's)

6 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup heavy cream (whipping cream)
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
1 cup sifted cocoa
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt

In a large saucepan, heat the butter and cream over medium heat until the butter is melted and small bubbles form around the edge of the pan.

Whisk in brown sugar and corn syrup. Continue to cook until the mixture is smooth and no grains of sugar remain. Add the cocoa, vanilla and salt. Whisk again until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine sieve. The sauce will keep for several weeks.
