I went and bought a Swiffer Sweeper

after reading the posts here yesterday. Oh my gosh, I'm a happy camper. My bathroom is right over a really dusty alley, the window is open all the time and the ceiling and walls get so dingy and dirty from the dust and moisture.

On a whim, I ran the Swiffer over the ceiling with some soapy bleach water last night and I was astounded with the results. In less than five minutes, the ceiling and walls were sparkling. I knew they were dirty, but I can't believe *how* dirty! Now the rest of my walls look filthy. I didn't want to come to work today, I wanted to stay home and Swiffer the ceilings and walls. LOL

Now I need to find one of the Swiffer Dusters. The store I bought the sweeper from was out yesterday. Do the Dusters work as well as the Sweeper?

Oh, and I'm off this afternoon in search of a bottle of Tea Tree oil to try on the rash on my hands and feet!

I really like the Swiffer Dusters. I think they work great and they last a long time. You can shake them out and some have reported that they wash them and reuse them. Someone gave me a box of the Sweeper pads. Not sure what to do with them. Gotta be a good use. Thought about buying a sweeper for them but I don't have a lot of floors they'd work well on. And I do like the Swiffer WetJet. BTW, if you get the duster and have anything where you need to reach, get the one with the extension handle. Works great high or low and it telescopes down so even at arm level it is great. I use some of the regular "Dusters" and have the telescoping one for the taller lamps, pictures on the walls and the like.

Isn't it nice to find something that works like it should? And as represented!

I have the Swiffer WetJet and love it.

I buy my Tea Tree Oil at Walmart. It's in the vitamin section.

It did fine for me. I had quite a few from a previous storm and it did okay, depending on the angle. It really has preformed very well the few times I've used it so far. I use to use the leaf blower to blow the leaves down the driveway into a pile for pickup, or blow them the other way into a scattered pile into the woodline, but now I can just drive them down to the pickup point on the curb, dump and go back for another load. This is, of course, after I have mulched all the leaves my lawn can absorb for one cool season.

I have been using my own solution in the WetJet for about a year. Here is the recipe that I have been using: Swiffer Refill-33 ounces 1. Soften lid with hot water - 30 to 45 seconds 2. Use pliers to lightly squeeze the base of the lid (not the upper part) as you twist it off. You will then see the teeth on the inside that "prevent" you from refilling it yourself. 3. Refill with solution below: Ã¢ÂÂ¢ 2 tablespoons of ammonia Ã¢ÂÂ¢ 1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol Ã¢ÂÂ¢ 1/2 teaspoon of dish soap Ã¢ÂÂ¢ 28 ounces water

I have a Swivel Sweeper from Walgreens and got a spare battery off ebay. I've not had it long enough to judge the battery life. These small devices use Nickel Cadmium batteries,which need to be treated differently than your standard Nickel Metal Hydride battery. See the paragraph:Shortcomings,from the article below. To summarize the correct way to treat these batteries: 1. Completely discharge the battery before recharging. 2. The sweeper is great huh? I love it....it picks up sooo much that the broom leaves behind on my floors. Ihave 2 dogs and have lot's os dog hair...this takes care if it!

Susan, I used the Swiffer Dusters in the Resale Store. Lots of dust came in with Donations. The feather dusters just put all the particals back in the air.

I use my Mr. Webber for the Ceiling to remove Cob Webs. Someone here told me about it.

My swiffer sweeper is in the garbage dump. What a waste of money that thing is. It doesn't pick up the dirt, it sorta just moves it around. I have a swiffer wet thingie too, which I only use for quickie cleans. But for a good clean, I get a bucket of water and a rag, get on my hands and knees and scrub. I have all hardwood or lino floors, so that's a lot of work. I did like the dusters though. I used them everywhere, but to save throwing more garbage in the landfills, I bought some material and made dust rags like mom used to use.

Debby, I just sprayed a little warm water on the pad, just to dampen, and it picked everything up. My kitchen almost looked like it had been mopped, in about a minute!

I use a Swifter cloth to dust, then put it on the Swifter floor mop, then turn it over on the mop to pick up some more. That's how I rationalize adding to landfill. Pathetic, huh? But I won't buy the 'disposable' toilet bowl cleaners or frozen dinners in bulky plastic that goes into landfill. (I don't think it's so smart to cook in plastic anyway, eh?)

I use microfiber cloths on my Swiffer, wet or dry, depending on the purpose.

I like the Swiffer sweeper. It's very handy for picking up dust and lint. Just not heavy stuff. I will never use the wejet again though. It made my cat very, very ill. It is well documented with our vet, and our poor cat suffered for a long time with bleeding paws and general illness for almost a year until we figured it out. We had his euthanasia booked and paid for. Then my son suggested the wetjet was the problem, and we stopped using it, and cancelled the euthanasia. He got better within two weeks, but remained scarred for the rest of his life. But the dry one is a dream.

I have the big size Swiffer - it has a dark blue handle. I love the bigger size, and it is heavier duty.

I use micro-fiber cloths and ammonia to clean my vynil floors with it.

I like my Swiffer Duster -I have the long telescoping one. It is great for ceiling fans, etc. I have 9 foot ceilings in my house, so it is nice for getting those cob webs out of the corners. It also bends nice - I can go under my couch on the wood floors to catch those killer dust bunnies.
