I have an LG WM2016 and I can attest to the quiet rrrrrrrAArrrr rrrrrAArrrr sound. Mine does it too. It reminds me of a chain saw running off in the distance. But I haven't noticed any clicking when the drum changes direction.

Gwebber - Yes, this dryer is noisier than my old ones ever were. There is no sound insulation in mine, not sure why it's called "Quiet Pak". I had two warranty repairs: 1. Vibrating front panel, right after delivery 2. Cracked drum, after 7 months Try to lean on different panels to see if you can stop the vibration while dryer is running, I could. Also, examine the back seam of the drum for any cracks. Lisa

Hi Sparking, Thanks for your reply, Well the wife has washed 3 loads since I posted here last and the pump seems not to be so noisy,Maybe it will work itself out ???. The other problems I have had are(fh) error code ended up being a hole in hose leading to flow meter, fdl errors all related to bad computer board , bad connection on board, bad solder joints on computer board, ended up resoldering all relay connection , and anding a little solder to were the connectors slide on , this seemed to help all my error codes so far. I keep my fingers crossed all the time with this washer, you can read all the problems with this model here or serf the net, there has been a law suit filed on this model. Thanks and have a good one.
