Oh I am so sorry. I know how hard it is to lose a member of the family and that's what they are.

I like to think of how loved the furbabies that have passed this fall. How lucky they were to have such loving homes. I think no matter how long they are with us, what matters is they know they are loved deeply.I think that is the greatest gift we can give them.

I think that love goes such a long way in pets living long lives. My vet told me that the average old age of cats in his practice are 13yrs. Only about 20% in the practice are at 15-16yrs of age. Our last 2 to pass before Autumn were 20 and 23. As I was leaving he said that he doesn't know what we are doing but to keep doing it and I said it's just a lot of love and dedication. He said that loving pets is often underestimated in the scientific end of a senior pets extended life. I really like him!

OK, I think I could be a 'cat person' if Autumn was the one! Beautiful! And those eyes! How sweet that she and Spice came together; animals know how to tend to each other when the chips are down. How's Spice doing without a pal? Is she melancholy? Give her a little scratch for me. And a big ole hug to you, too. I know that for some people, having a pet pass very quickly is really hard, harder than dealing with a slowly worsening situation. But having been in the former position, I thank God every day for that "blessing"--I really didn't have to make a decision.

Up at the Rainbow Bridge, there were lots of animals there to greet your girl. Down here, there are cats hoping and praying they'll be lucky enough to get you as a mom!

Oh what a beauty -and what a perfect name.... I still miss my Ash every single day. I keep reminding myself that grief is not a burden to rid myself of, but a measure of the love Ash gave me. What a great story about your other animals...

Beautiful girl, looking at her Mom so lovingly there. They're the best. It's so nice to have great pictures of them, too, to be able to look back and see them irl again. She looks so loved and happy.

Oh my gosh...what a story...give Spicie a huge hug for me tonight...I'm so sorry that Autumn has gone but thankful that you shared that story with us. Animals are the absolute best spirits in the world. We're so lucky if we get to be their companions. You did right by her and clearly by Spicie too.

What an angel! She is smiling down from heaven on her loving family. I am so sorry about your loss. It is so difficult! We put our 13 yr. old cat PC to sleep about 6 years ago and we still think of her and miss her. I am sending lots of prayers your way.

Not sure how DS1 is taking it. He got REALLY angry when we told him what needed to be done. Poor kid. He's 6 in 2 days. He sort of vascillates between angry and goofing about it. He still talks about our 1 dog that we had that got cancer when DS1 was only 2yrs old and had to be put down a few months later. Talks like that dog is still w/ us right there in the room.

I'm going to tkae him down to the Kitty Cottage to volunteer petting time to all of the cats that need homes. Then when one strikes his fancy we'll adopt it.

It's quiet in the house w/ only 1 dog and 1 cat!

It's so hard to lose a pet, so sorry ttodd.

It's so quiet w/o her in the house (even though we still have a dog and 1 other cat left). She was never loud (well, for the most part that is!) but her personality was just so big.

DH told me that he thinks he sees something out of the corner of his eye some nights and reaches up behind his head on the sofa to scratch her. I told him that she may very well be there!

Bestyears - was that you that had a pendant made of your Ashes when he passed? If so could you show a pic of it again and post where you got it from?
