MP3 Player Questions

I am hoping someone can help me with this player, I know nothing about them and the manual isnÂt helping. I bought one

for my DS for Christmas and he has a lot of CDÂs that we would like to put on the MP3. Would I have to download

them (CDs) to my computer, then upload to the MP3? It is a Memorex and very small, but at least he

would not have to worry about carrying around a CD player and a CD case plus I would not have to look

at the CDs laying all around the house. If you could give some infor regarding this thing, I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, would I have to use something like Itunes to do this?

You'll undoubtedly get lots of answers to your questions... :-)

Is the player an iPOD? If not, you definitely won't need iTunes. Oh - you said it's a Memorex, so, no, you won't need iTunes.

I have a Dell DJ 30GB MP3 player. I "rip" the music from CDs to my computer, using Windows Media Player. Then I can click and drag music to the player (connected to my pc) just as I can click and drag any file from one folder to another. Or, I can use the DJ Explorer utility that came with the player.

Deb, Like Lindsay said use the windows media player or if your DS player came with a CD with it's own software to rip the CDs. the one I have (a Creative) has the options to put it both on my computer and the player, but I uncheck the box to put it on the computer so it only goes on the MP3

This is probably a little off subject, but the other day I picked up my mp3 player because I was headed out to do some gardening by a busy street. I hate working over there cause I usually get honked at...you know, hiney in the air....lovely. I was bebopping to my music and lo and behold an ebook I had "borrowed" from the library came on. Hi Zep, I went ahead and upgraded to mp10 for my system. It seems nice so I'll go with it thanks. Unfortunately I still can't get the songs onto my pos mp3 player, there must be something wrong with it is all I can figure. I am able to rip songs from my cd's fine but the whole transfering them thing just isn't working. I am going to try the mp3 player in another computer at work tomorrow and I'll go from there. Remember we've had this thing for a few years just sitting in a closet with how to speak german on it so its no big loss. I'll go get another simple yet fairly inexpensive model at w-mart to learn on. I'm not giving up on this because I'm tired of listening to the boring elevator music the local station plays here in the middle of nowhere. Thanks, Neal

If you have iTunes (or download it free), you can use it to rip the songs from your CDs into MP3s.

Once all the songs are in the Music folder of iTunes, you can select the songs and do a drag 'n drop into the folder of your choice or even directly into the Memorex MP3 player.
