For wood floor cleaning, I recommend buying and using a Bona cleaning kit. It includes a spray bottle with an alcohol based cleaner, a mop handle, dusting pad and microfiber cleaning pad. I use this on my own floors. After sweeping or vacuuming I spray or mist the cleaner on the floor and use the mop to remove the cleaner and dirt. If I get a real dirty spot I'll clean it with a damp towel first. I've yet to see dirt that couldn't be removed with this method. Once the cleaning pad gets dirty I wash it in the sink then throw it in the washing machine. This process minimizes the amount of water the wood is subjected to. When my bottle runs out I refill it with 2oz. of Woodwise cleaner concentrate and add water. The Woodwise concentrate is a very reasonably priced but hard to find. I've seen Bona products at Lowes, Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. Other than that I'll occasionally use a dry Swiffer to pick up dust and hair and mineral spirits for grease or tar. I really like the Freefit. I sold some VCT to a friend to use in his bike shop. He wanted wood floor in one area but it included the side door where all his deliveries arrrived so I recommended Freefit. It's holding up well despite having lots of boxes slid over it. Later I did some Freefit in the Bamboo look for his mom as a favor. She had one of those glue-edge vinyls that failed. I've seen Freefit in several local retail shops also, including a restaurant with a bar. I was (and probably still am) a bit skeptical of laying it loose but it seems to work as advertised. Hi Rogue - Since I'm not there, and I don't know either of you, I don't feel competant to tell you either what's going on with your fiancee or what you should do (sorry!). However, there's one line in your post that I can give you some feedback on: "I feel hurt, but I don't feel like it is justified. I want her to tell me whatever is on her mind. When she does, I never let on that it upsets me" Rogue, your feelings are your feelings - and therefore they're valid. They may not make sense to someone else, but feelings are neither right nor wrong to have...they just are. Your hurt is valid, and I encourage you to see if you can do a little digging inside yourself to see if you can put more specific words around the hurt you're feeling (e.g. Are you afraid of losing her? Do you feel your love isn't being returned?, etc.). Pretending your hurt doesn't matter isn't going to bring healing, it will only drive the hurt down farther inside, usually to come roaring back at a later occasion. It's OK to feel hurt by this. You say that you encourage her to tell you what's going on for her - that's great! What a gift to her to let her know she can be fully herself and that she can trust you. But then you say that when she says something that hurts you, you don't let her know what's going on for you. I wonder why that is... Healthy communication needs to be honest, trusting and mutual. While I'm guessing that it may feel to you like you're sparing your fiancee from the discomfort of knowing you're hurt by things she's said, it doesn't foster mutual, honest sharing between the two of you. I'm sure I don't need to tell you that communication can be hard sometimes - but stuffing your own feelings for the sake of someone else usually just leads us to feel resentment toward them farther down the road. This doesn't sound like it's a small issue for you...I hope this might be an opportunity for the two of you to grow in honesty and to know each other's hearts more deeply.

Without a doubt that is the biggest bunch of nonsense that I have heard in my 40 years in the Plumbing trade. The fact of the matter is a hot water line reaches maximum temperature equal to the water heater set temp every time there is a flow of hot water and the moment that flow stops the lines begin radiating heat until they drop to equilibrium with room temperature. This may occur two or three times per hour not twice a day on a schedule as is suggested in the previous post. In turn, the reason that this type of leak is more prevalent on a hot water line than on a cold water line is because mineral scale developes faster in hot water. The mineral scale then leaves deposits on the seat of the valve which prevents the valve from fully closing. Now even if one were to change the Bibb washer that would not address the problem of mineral scale on the valve seat. The option would then be to grind the seats but at $3 each for replacement valves it simply is not cost effective to waste time changing washers or grinding the seats.

I found myself in this complex step family situation due to death not divorce, however, from what I hear ... the grieving process of a divorce is similar to that of the grieving process of a death. After extensive counseling ... the point they all seem to drive home is ... My life has changed, It is forever different. I am different now. I can never go back to the way it was. I accept this new life and make the best of it. My personal point ... What doesnt break you makes you stronger. It almost broke me ... I blew the scale off the stress charts ... In less then two and 1/2 years (just the HIGHLIGHTS in chronological order) ... I got married, I had my first child. Bought a new house. Just found out that second child was to be a Boy. Husband was killed in a car accident. Moved into a fixer upper my high-energy husband wanted. Roof leaked, needed new furnish, etc... Change of occupation (Over ten years experience programming computers for fortune 500 companies - to a full time stay at home single mom, that had never changed a diaper, until the birth of my first child). Gave birth to second child who had an undiagnosed ear problem (stupid doctor - I switched pediatricians). This child never slept more then one hour at a time until I had tubes put in his ears at 1 year. No one would keep him over night. I had to beg (which is very difficult for me) friends and family for a few hours once a week (if that often) so I could sleep. The sleep deprivation almost sent me over the edge. I found strength in my children. I forged on. Things got better. I now believe more in myself and my abilities. I am stronger now, an independent women and I have confidence that I can conquer any twists and turns life may throw my way. I have emerged with more confidence in myself and who I am. I realize that I will do anything for my children's well fare. Remember Lea, you beat the odds, you made it out of an abusive relationship. I admire you and your strength. Accept it. learn from it. Thank your parents for giving the brain power and instilling the strength in you to over come such a hurdle. Maybe some sort of volunteer work to help others in abusive relationship, might ease your sole. And Yes, writing just the highlights, still brings tears to my eyes.
