I should pay more attention

I ordered football cupcakes rings for Nick's birthday last week. They came and they weren't that nice. I just didn't care for the design. There are several designs out there and I just assumed I had somehow ordered the wrong ones.

I was going to use them anyway but it was bugging me so I ordered the right ones. I noticed the seller name was the same as the one I ordered the other rings from. Then I looked and I had ordered the right ones - they just sent me the wrong ones. Why did I just assume I ordered the wrong ones?

Oh well, they will hopefully make it right but it just blows my mind that I automatically thought it was my mistake.

Ed, that's funny about your VL...Well, I guess it wasn't for you. Maybe we both need to start paying more attention! I'm familiar with polys but the ZBB had an extra petal and not an extra sepal. At least that's what I'm seeing in the picture but maybe it was hiding back there somewhere. Would that also be considered a poly? ZBB actually has much more intense coloration than in that pic. For some reason I am never able to capture it correctly with my camera. The coleus was called "Alabama Sunset" (I think). I successfully overwintered rooted cuttings of it in the garage for 2 years straight, but didn't have any make it this year.

How much did you pay or should I pay for a DCS installation?

I paid $100 six years ago to have the DCS installed. It was done by a plumber sent by the appliance store where I bought it. They have to hook it up and check the flames - that's about it. $250 seems a bit high - does that include delivery or is delivery a separate charge.

Ok, so my DH brought it home and..... I don't like it :( Sometimes things have a way of growing on me but I don't think that this will. And, of course, the cabinet isn't finished yet so it's a bit hard to see it and judge with the cabinet looking the way it does above rather than the rest of the cabinets. My complaints - I think it'll be too dark. It's the darkest thing in the kitchen and it's basically the longest uninterrupted stretch of counter (the area next to it is 112 but that includes the sink) so it seems very visually prominent. I'm not a huge fan of the strips of wood next to the strips of wood in the floor. The finish on it is pretty shiny and somehow it appears very lifeless and flat - DH commented that it looks like laminate! I realize that this could be changed with a different finish on it. The positives - it looks really nice with the dark wainscotting in the dining room. It's not in the dining room of course but the view through is nice. The wood itself is pretty gorgeous. The colors and patterns are SO pretty. I'm thinking now that I need a different wood species. I think I'd prefer something that's more in keeping with the colors in the floor. Anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking about sapele, mahogany, cherry, teak and maple. I think I'd probably prefer a plank style so that it's not as visually similar to the floor. Any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated!!

I even googled this but do not understand what the heck is a football cupcake ring???

It's a plastic thing that you can stick on top of a cupcake and then the kids can wear them (and an easier way to make a cute cupcake).

ohhh ok so it really can be worn as a ring, I could not tell from any of the pics I had see where it was just a football on a cupcake.

We make life so difficult for ourselves. I'm sure the boys wouldn't have noticed the difference, but like you, I would have done the same thing and worse yet, assumed the same when the wrong ones came! I remember all the years I baked cupcakes and decorated them for the kids class when it was their birthday. One year I simply didn't have the time so I brought in candy bars for all the kids. After many years of cupcakes I found out the candy bars were the biggest hit. Who knew?

Well I'm not happy. I got an invoice last night that had a message saying if I combined auctions to wait for combined shipping. So I assumed it hadn't been combined yet but paid it anyway and left a message saying that I really wanted the right ones so I was paying that invoice (which I didn't think combined shipping) and please send the right ones right away. She wrote back saying she had combined shipping (so why put a message on the invoice that says to wait for combined shipping?) and that the design had changed to a football with no white stripes and that they auction hadn't been updated. Do I want them anyway?

The original auction said "FOOTBALL pattern as seen in the photo. These RINGS are brand new and a JUST RELEASED design." And they changed the design already? I smell a rat.

What a hassle for some plastic crap.
