Do you own any clothing from (the store) Lucy?

I just discovered this brand and this store. I would like to purchase the Everyday Pant and am also considering the Vital Jacket and the Run Around Half Zip. Does anyone who shops there have any comments, positive or negative, that they'd like to share on these clothing items or anything else about the store in general? Thanks so much.

Most of my workout wear is Lucy. I have had no problems with it and would buy it again.

I don't know those specific items but agree with vickij - I have a few items and don't hesitate to recommend them. Day to day and year round I pretty much live in my workout wear, shower post work out and put on a clean version, short, capri, long, skort depending on the season and activities for the rest of the day. Lucy, Athleta, Old Navy (surprise!) and TJMaxx are my go to sources although not in that order.

One reason department stores do not sell everything from their stores online is that they are department stores. The manufacturers pay to rent the space in the stores and have an agreement with the store to handles transactions. This is why clothing lines like Esprit and Ralph Lauren are displayed in their own areas that are decorated differently than the surrounding store areas and not mixed in with all the other clothing. They may have an agreement contract written to partner with advertising together - or not. They may not want online sales to keep their product line "exclusive". Cosmetics are sold like this too in department stores. The manufacturer is responsible for stocking, maintenance and displays. The persons working cosmetic counters in department stores are often employees of the cosmetic manufacturer and not of the store. Ergo, if you wish to order Betsey Johnson clothing online you will have to order from the Betsey Johnson site itself, not the department store.

"Fabric softeners contains fats and/or oils to function as a lubricant to make fabric fibers slippery for a softer feel to the touch. Vinegar does not have a lubricating effect." That's somewhat true, fabric softeners have chemicals(QUATS) which coat fabrics so they feel softer. Vinegar removes any detergent residue which will make them softer, since you shouldn't use fabric softeners(including dryer sheets) on 100% polyester vinegar is a good substitute. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080718154912AASU3ja

Oops! I seem to have forgotten that I started this thread, but the responses have been very helpful. I think I will definitely to go El Camaguey and buy a tortilla press, although I don't think it has a stainless steel surface like Ann's, which would be nice. I do keep dry masa on hand, but I also keep fresh masa in the freezer - for making what I thought were empanadas, but which are probably quesadillas, at least as they are made in Mexico, and deep fried. As for flour tortillas, since I've found the whole grain tortillas in the market, I probably won't be making too many of those again, although I might want to experiment with some of the whole grain flours I have. I don't especially like tortillas made with all white flour, and corn tortillas are my favorite. When I first visited Vancouver for a long visit (1978 or so), I was shocked that I could not find fresh corn tortillas in the grocery stores (I did find frozen ones, but did not consider that acceptable). At that time, I practically lived on soft tacos (that I made myself, often with tofu), and so I had to make an adjustment. I think I bought some whole wheat crackers instead. I think I will try to find some Hispanic markets, although there aren't any in my immediate neighborhood. There are some in neighboring Mar Vista (where Scott lives), which is less than 2 miles from here. There are several places to buy fresh tamales, but they don't sell tortillas. Dish cloth or sponge? And where do you store it between uses?

Sponges are horribly filthy- they hold bacteria even if you put them in the micro/dishwasher. I thought so too! But then I read a USDA report on putting sponges in the dishwasher with a hot dry cycle, and it said that it sterilized the sponge. I didn't believe it. So I let a sponge get stinky, brought home agar plates and sterile swabs from work (I teach physics and my lab is right next to the bio lab) and I streaked a plate. I put the sponge in the dishwasher with the heated drying cycle, and then streaked another plate. The first one was covered with colonies as you'd expect; the second was clean. Nothing was growing. It looked untouched. I had to change my tune. The dishwasher does a good job when you use the heated drying cycle. In fact, here's the USDA paper's conclusion: "Thus microwave heating and dishwashing with a drying cycle proved to be the most effective methods for inactivating bacteria, yeasts and molds on sponges. These simple and convenient treatments can help ensure that contaminated sponges don't spread foodborne pathogens around household kitchens of today's busy families." I had a pair of Lucy pants that I basically wore out because I wore them so much. When I wanted to replace them, they didn't sell that particular style any more and I was so sad! My advice: if you love something, buy two!

I have one pair of Lucy pants. They are very well made and I like that they have a pocket with a zipper. However, they are totally dorky looking. These are yoga style pants, so they are not tight and the length is below the knee. The problem is that they looks like someone took a long pair of pants and simply chopped them off below the knee. They are completely straight, no flair. I only wear them around the house.

However, I do think the quality is very good. I just looked at their site and I think they are the Everyday Capri. See how they are completely straight and baggy?
