Kenmore Elite top-freezer refrigerator seal issue.
Comments (2)The elasticity of the seals degrade over time. I have an 8 year old FD fridge and the closing of one door started leaving the other ajar. If we were home we'd hear the door alarm but a couple of times it happened on the way out the door - ruining food in the process. When I called the local appliance shop the guy recommended coating the seals in petroleum jelly (three sides & wiping off excess), claiming that it sometimes restores enough elasticity. I did it that once and the fridge has been sealing fine ever since (over a year now). Might be worth a try....See MoreKenmore Elite Front Load Washer Smell
Comments (113)I have a Miele front load washer that had a terrible sewage/rot odor for years. I live in AZ so it's very dry here, but we always leave the washer door open, thinking maybe that would help. I tried running baking soda, vinegar, Smelly Washer, etc. through the machine and they all helped for a short time before the smell came back. All of our clothes gained that gross smell to some degree and God forbid you leave the clothes in the washer for more than 5 minutes after the wash cycle was finished. After cleaning the door gasket even though there was no mold there whatsoever, we finally switched to POWDER DETERGENT and the problem went away after 4 or 5 loads and has not returned over the last few months. We make sure to run a hot water load once a week, but I think the rotten odor was 100% caused by liquid detergent (we never use fabric softener). Even using small amounts of the HE liquid detergent perpetuated the problem. It's hard to find dry detergent these days, but it's worth it to hunt some down! It SOLVED OUR STINKY WASHER PROBLEM....See Morekenmore elite he5t front load washer f70 errors
Comments (3)And this is why I SUGGEST people plug machines like this into a surge protector because of the sensitive electronics. The board went out on mine after a year, it got replaced.......from that point on it was plugged into a surge protector, and almost five years later no issues......So I can only assume the surge protector is why. It sounds like your control board went out.....There is a guy on Ebay that will send you a new board with instructions for replacing it yourself.....You send him your old board. I think he tells you step by step how to do it. Do an Ebay search he5t error code....See MoreKenmore Elite Oasis Washer - NEW
Comments (154)Bought a Kenmore Oasis washer from their Outlet Store (scratch and dent model) in Atlanta last week for half price, and have a problem. I keep getting an error code LF on every Final rinse cycle. It works great until it gets to the final rinse, and then it just trickles the tiniest amount of water into the drum from the top/back edge of the machine with no agitation of the drum what-so-ever... I just hear a slight humming sound like maybe the sollenoid isn't opening fully for the rinse cycle...This problem lasts for about 25 minutes then it stops and flashes up a "LF" (stands for Long Fill) message, and then I have to press stop open the lid, and manually fill the tub with water from my laundry sink hose to cover the clothes. I then close the lid press "Start" and it finally senses the water level has been reached, and it resumes the final rinse and spin. I have checked the water hoses, and there is NO blockage. However, this machine did NOT come with fill hoses and I purchased two new hoses from Lowes that were anti burst/restrictor hoses, so maybe these hoses are not allowing enough water to get through, though like I said, it only happens on the final rinse cycle. Water flows in normally at the beginning of the wash cycle so I feel it insn't the hoses. Does anyone have any experience with this problem? Any info would be appreciate before I get my hubby to load the washer back up in his truck and return it to the Sears Outlet Store....See Moredadoes
