?? about mascarpone

I feel in love with mascarone when I tasted the filling for the strawberry tart that I made for my granddaughter's 2lst birthday. But that was an uncooked filling, so here's my question

Is it still worth the price difference when mascarpone is used in a cooked filling ... as in a Savory Cheesecake I want to try????
