What a beautiful kitchen, mairin. The color and style of your cabinetry coupled with the granite is just lovely. Sigh. I know I am v. late to this dance, but have you considered glass knobs? As I first looked at your pictures, and then I just scrolled back up to look again, I'm really "feeling" glass knobs. I think they'll give you the sparkle of the pewter without looking too polka dot-y, if that makes sense. (in my mind's eye, the pewter will pop against the dark cabinets) My kitchen is the negative of yours (white cabinets). We have RH's glass knobs on our doors (not on the drawers) and they are visible without saying "HERE I AM! LOOK AT ME!" There is something subtle, elegant and easy about them (they're easy on the hands, and they are a breeze to clean [two toddlers -- trust me, I know]). Plus they're pretty, and they don't detract from the cabinet door style -- I think they actually add. You wrote that the pendants are from Pottery Barn -- I haven't visited their website to see the size / price of those pendants, so this may be of no help. However, an eBay seller (5starfurnishings) from whom I've purchased lighting has some v. similar pendants, maybe a similar size but lower price? As I wrote, I know nothing of the Pottery Barn pendants, but I always like saving money! I know I'm late late late, as I wrote, but I still wanted to pipe in with what I'm seeing when I look at those scrumptious pictures!

I have shaker cabinets too (white) and went with the Amerock Mulholland pulls for drawers, knobs for cabinet doors. I went with 96mm pulls on the 15 & 18" drawers, 128mm pulls on the 24" and larger drawers. The 96mm ones looked too small on the bigger drawers, and the 128mm pulls looked a little crowded on the smaller drawers (especially because of the shaker stile/rails all around the drawer fronts).

OMG! pluckymama - you're absolutely right! I like the rectangles, but if I mount them sideways (as suggested and it makes sense) everything is very linear. This is a small, long galley and that would just add to the runway feel. I called the store and the guy on the phone was no help at all with my decision. :) I ordered the rectangles, then I saw your note. I called him back and had it switched over just in the nick of time. I'm sure either would look great and I am being a high-maintenance baby. But I am happy with the final decision, so thanks much. I was running around the kitchen drilling holes so I could see how different ones looked in various cabinets. LOL! The round looked really good on the lazy susan next to the stack of drawers. They both looked nice, but the round had a little more oomph that the rectangle didn't have. Thanks again all! erikanh - The ones on the drawer stack are 6". The one on the trash is 8". They're the Asbury series from RH.

I am going to do all pulls on both uppers and lowers. If my hands are dirty I find it easier to hook a clean pinky finger into a pull. Plus, I prefer the look of pulls on taller uppers such as 40" - you seem to have taller uppers as well. A knob on a tall upper like that just seems puny to me. My inspiration is ayerg73's lovely kitchen. http://ths.gardenweb.com/discussions/2628432/finished-kitchen-pictures Some things to consider: ayerg73 also does have a bold backsplash, which I am thinking may help counteract any boldness in the look of pulls on the upper cabinets. I'm probably doing a quartz (a medium/light mixed slate look) backsplash that I hope will have the same effect. But, I would also consider that her (and my) pulls are longer than normal at 128mm/5", not the standard 3". If you went with the smaller pulls on the uppers, you may not need a bold backsplash.
