I think the weather people are so excited to get more air time, they forecast worst case.

Living in Pa. we should know not to believe what they say....My DD and I are to be meeting 2 cousins for our annual lunch and, there again, listening to the "experts" thought about canceling...So far, we're still on, we got that dusting last night and nothing more...But we do have a winter warning????I guess north of 80 got a significant amount.....

How long till spring???

We were supposed to get 1-2" of snow overnight but we got 5".

I'm about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh and we are getting slammed with buckets of snow as I type. There are already about 6 inches out there and it's coming down big and fluffy. SNOWMAN TIME!!!

North central Ohio here, with about 10" on the ground and more coming down. And we are not in the lake effect area! I don't know how much Mickey15 has about 30 minutes west of me, or Renie50 about 20 minutes south of me, but probably pretty close to the same. It's light and fluffy, not good packing snowman snow here.

Forget the snow (LOL)...what I want to know is how in the heck Nick is already FIVE??????????? Time flies! Yikes!

I had to laugh - the paper said we could get 1-9" of snow. Heck, I could have predicted that..lol

If you smack them on one side, I'll smack them on the other!

I am in PA also (east of Pittsburgh)... 4 to 8" predicted.
We got nothin'.

My Mom's in Beaver Falls - she got 6" and it is still coming down steadily.
DH, DS and I are jealous. We were all ready to have a snowed-in Saturday, since we all had NO commitments today. DS leaves for spring semester tomorrow, so we thought we'd have a nice family day together.... Guess we still will, but it would have been better with snow!

Just checking in from North of Minot--got about 6 inches of wet snow, on top of everything else. Minot city is having some real serious problems as the snow plows cannot get thru the streets because of cars, and no place to put the snow. More coming Sun/Mon/Tue and we will very glad to share. Just send my your address, and I will be glad to express mail. LOL>

OMG I live in PA too, just south of Phildelphia and we got nothing! We were supposed to get a few inches but they are never right. That stupid Hurricane Schwartz is such an idiot! It is gray here and looks like it may snow but nothing yet and it is almost 3:00 in the afternoon. I was hoping for some pretty white snow to look out at since I am still laid up with my broken ankle.

flyonawall - you mustn't be too far from me. I live in Worthington (near Kittanning) and we've got plenty of snow too - I guess 8 inches or more. It's a great Saturday to stay in and look out!

It did start snowing again here but it didn't start until about the time the party would have ended. We probably could have squeezed it in but at least now I'm not as PO'd about postponing the party. Now, however, I have to worry that they got tomorrow wrong and things might not clear up as early as they were supposed to!

Oh well, we're having the party tomorrow no matter what. I have no way of contacting all of the guests to postpone it any further and I have a cake and cupcakes baked and ready to be frosted.

Sorry about your weather. I just wanted to say that every time I scroll down through the posts and see your title, I chuckle. They deserve a good smack! LOL

Well, I live about 50 miles south of Erie, and honey child, we got hit, and Erie is under a snow emergency.
Just a few miles can make a HUGE difference.

irishdancersgram, I live "north of 80" in NJ, and I can assure you that we have plenty of snow, and it's still coming. I've got to get to Cape Liberty tomorrow to pick up my nieces from a cruise ship where they spent 10 days in the carribean sun. Won't they be surprised to find snow on their balcony tomorrow morning? LOL!!!

At my location, the weathermen have hit the nail on the head 4 times out of 5 - pretty good, I'd say - even up to the point of correctly naming the hour the snow would begion 24 hrs in advance. They did miss a bit on this last snow. They were expecting 4 to 6 inches, but the storm slipped a bit south and we caught the north edge getting about 2.5 inches of snow. But move one county south of us and there was 5 inches.

A snow is the hardest one to predict for exact location and amount. A 25 mile shift north or south can make a big difference.

My smug hubby told me the weather people were probably wrong when they predicted snow for us (Waynesboro, PA).
I think some of it is because of the location - we are in a very unsettled weather area and are usually on snow/rain line (between MD and PA) where the temp/snow could go either way.
Sorry about the party.
You need to plan your children's birthday's better (teasing because my SIL refused to have her second in winter after the first came in Feb.).
We have some ice out there now and I am hoping it is gone soon.

We're in New Jersey, just across the Delaware River from Philly and we don't even have a dusting. But I'm happy about the good weather from here to Pittsburgh - several of my family members drove out yesterday to watch the Steelers in the play off game today. And they're all driving back after the game. So they were lucky to avoid snow. Although I haven't heard about the Somerset area, that always seems to get the worst weather on the turnpike.

My son is at our place in the Poconos and he assures me that he has plenty of snow but was happy to report that his new car made it up the icy, snow covered driveway without any mishaps.

Western pa luann..... that's where I'm at....where your mom is..... Beaver Falls! Barb from pa....I've heard of Kittanning....not exactly sure which direction from me tho...I've got no sense of direction.
