A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

As Mr Rogers would say. It's in the mid 30s and the sun is shining. Yes, they tell me it will become cloudier as the day progresses and even get some snow. But right now, it's beautiful here in my part of Ohio.

Not to "one up" you, Shirley, but we had a summer day here in CA yesterday: sunny, blue sky, must have been in the high 70's. Unfortunately, we have had little rain and must water our yards to keep things going, so while the weather is enjoyable, we need some of the wet stuff.

I can appreciate how you are enjoying the sun, so I hope your beautiful day lasts a good long while for you.

Thats my plan, to can, freeze and dehydrate all my produce. But i do have neighbors that are willing to buy some of my stuff, becuase they either dont have the room or just no time...so what I dont use i guess ill sell to them and buy next years seeds, plants and other garden related items. But thatrs only what wont be put up. Just came from the garden today and some of my okra is about 6" tall and looking good same with the celery, took awhile to germinate but it is doing great as well. Ill be putting in my garlic and shallots today as well, hopefully i have better luck with it then last year. I planted sweet peppers out in the garden today and put my hot peppers in containers. Did 2 garden tours today, people dont look at me as im nuts anymore but now they admire my work in the garden. Its nice to see that they understand why most of my yard is garden now, but it took rising food prices and gas prices to understand. Well i better get back out ther and get more done before the rain hits. Have a great day in the garden everyone.

You'll want to spread out the datura. It spread about 2' for me. Same for the malva although mine had only a 1' spread. Those plants look really great.

Yeah I'm in NY also and even tho the sun is out, my plants are not (yet). I did buy some primroses at the grocery store and stuck them near my front sidewalk. At least the malman can see them. I need a little color this time of year. Oh, shoot, one extra day in February!

The toddler is at the babysitter's house and I'm painting a bedroom. The sun is shining for the 4th day in a row! It's about 42 degrees outside and I hung laundry on the line for the first time this spring. I figured if the Amish women around here can do it, so can I! Happy Friday, everyone! Colleen in Wisconsin

I'm cold. That wind seems to be finding its way into every hole and crack in my old house this morning. I just turned the thermostat up again. brrrr. Need to go out and fill the bird feeders as soon as I do the dishes. I have yesterday's, last night's, and this morning's dishes to do. Thankfully, there's only me here so that doesn't make too many, mostly cereal and soup bowls, and silverware.

It's a sunny, windy day here in Central Indiana. It is 36. This has been a strange winter.. Not many really, really cold days. I guess we have February and March to get through yet. I am thankful for all the sunny days we are getting...

More blue skies here in Southern Oregon but a crisp 31 degrees and heading up to 51 the weather predictor says. It has been dry here, but we are catching up on the rain little by little and there is snow capped mountains (at last) near by. Ski-ers are finally getting their snow-fix.

We are in Jacksonville, FL and a cold front has moved in for a couple of days. Today will be sunny with temp at 68 degrees.

When we came home from church, it was really snowing and blowing. Now it is still blowing and the sun is out.Tthe temperature has dropped to 30!
