Having a hard time choosing pendant & table lighting - help!
Hi all again!
I am to the point where I am second guessing every decision and having a hard time moving forward. I need to pick out my lighting and am drawing a blank. I've visited lighting stores and when they throw all these books at me my heart skips a beat and I have no idea what to pick!
The perimeter of my cabinets are white inset with a very basic recessed door style. We are going with satin nickel hardware (also haven't picked out yet!) on those cabinets. Our island is a medium stained maple with ORB hardware on the island.
My pendants and over kitchen table lighting should match finishes, right? But I'm not sure I want to do ORB on the island since I have so much stainless.
I know these lights below probably don't go together, but it gives you a feel for things I like. I am very open to suggestions!

Comments (20)Thanks for all of the input!!! It sounds like a pendant may not be in my future. I loved the idea of it but as I was looking at it more, I was worried that there might be too much going on there. I was having second thoughts and wanted to get opinions from all of you. Holly-Kay: we are planning on changing out the chandelier above the table to a bronze finish to tie in with the darker wood and fireplace things. But I see how a pendant above the sink might be too much. Snookums2: we removed the dark screens and it looks much better. I can't wait for everything to get started! I thought about tiling to the ceiling but wasn't sure since our cabs don't go to the ceiling. We are going to add a taller crown but nowhere near ceiling height. That may be the subject of another post. Nosoccermom: great idea about hanging a balloon. I don't have photoshop but maybe I could cut and paste something there and post again. Comments (16)Thanks for the suggestions! I will be getting my Vetro B/S sample today (there was a mix up with the supplier.) I really hope I like it because I am really getting kitchen reno fatigue and don't want to keep searching for the right B/S. It's been chaos juggling work, kids and dragging my kids to endless trips to Home Depot, granite, lighting, etc. stores!! Fortunately, we have a much needed vacation next week! The discus pendant is nice, but at 10" in diameter, I think a bit big for my kitchen. Any other ideas? I have no clue what I even like in pendants?? I am considering a brushed nickel b/c of the hardware/SS appliances but also think maybe something glass or crystal would be nice. any other suggestions??? Comments (2)I will say Edison bulbs are the most horrible lighting ever and there is areason they went the way of the dodo . I like good lighting that actually lights the table and the other thing with Edison buls is they cast a yellow glow on everything so colrs you love in the daytime become yucky at night. I need to see the rest of your home this is one space and needs to work with the others I am getting no feel for your style except for atable....See Moreannie.zz
