Here's a sculpture of a fruit basket supported by small sculpted metal turtles, in the Dumbarton Oaks gardens in DC.

Bob, I get such a kick out of your pictures and titles/explanations. You find a pic to go with everything! LOL

Thanks, its fun to see the pictures here and then free-associate to find one that is suggested to me by one or more of the preceding images for that day. Especially if I can find one tha that captures the "theme" of the days images.

I love taking pictures and have literally thousands to choose from. In fact on a month-long Semester-at-Sea voyage around the Caribbean, between my camera and my wife's we took over 8000 pictures.

Posting here gives me impetus to sort through and further organize them so I actually can find what I'm looking for.

Next on my to-do list is to also scan in the negatives from the years before I went digital.

Ditto what Bob wrote. I've barely processed all of my Panama Canal photos from 2011, have several thousand I've barely looked at from hikes and other local trips and now have an upcoming 21-day vacation that will likely add another several thousand photos to my 'to be processed' list. But it's fun to find photos in my files that fit the day's theme here at the KT daily photo posts.

lol I can relate. I couldn't find my wall painting photos when ya all posted wall mural paintings....lol My organizational skills and finding things skills among all these computers and cameras is terrible....lol

On the ship my wife was teaching an engineering course, and I was along as a plus-one, with no duties or responsibilities, so that I referred to myself as "the slacker spouse", and adopted the motto "Just because you're doing nothing, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it well.

However after each two day stop in port, I would need the next few days at sea to collate and rename the images from the two cameras, stitch together any panoramic shots, adjust the exposure, and straighten and crop the photos, and then select the best for the day, scale them down, and upload them (over a painfully slow internet connection) to the blog I was writing, and then caption the images and paste them into the text or into a gallery for the day. I was often up until 2:00 AM.

As the trip progressed and the time at sea between ports lessened, I got further and further behind, and once back on land the blog photo galleries languished until I started posting here over the summer, and saw Jodi's Panama Canal photos and finally got the kick-in-the-butt to finish working on the blog photos.
