Help finding Lemons in a jar

I saw a picture a while back of lemons in a jar but can't remember if they were canned or pickled or what they were doing in the jar can someone link me. Thanks

Yes - preserved or fermented lemons. I started a thread a couple years ago.

Many people use Meyer lemons. I have had better luck with Eureka lemons - the regular one you find in the grocery story.

I am making Moroccan Stew today which uses the preserved lemons as a garnish.

I have lots of pics but don't think it allows me to d/l more than one that I have to resize...Thanks for all of your info..I had no idea that there were THREE full size trunks and so, I did not know what to do. This is the picture of the satsuma...I see the hump described to me and only the largest trunk has the three leaves, on which 2 satsumas produced this year. We looked for anything BELOW that hump on either tree to cut off, but can't be sure what we are doing. I guess my understanding is that those full size trunks that seem to be at or below the hump should be cut off?? We cut one but not at ground level. If the three leaves are the key, then the (humped) trunk only should be left standing?

Not sure whether this tip is helpful here. If one has a partially used jar - whether it is a cook-in sauce or a jam or almost anything either commercial or home-made, there is a way to re-seal it without it going off or becoming mouldy. Place the partially-used jar into the microwave and run for one minute on full power. Whilst doing this, wash the lid, rinse under running water and shake off to dry. Do NOT use a drying cloth as this could add contamination.. The moment the microwaving is done - as soon as the minute is up, hold the jar with a cloth to avoid burning your fingers and screw on the top. If it is the type of top with a safety button, you will hear that ping in, creating a partial vacuum up to about ten minutes later. By doing this, you are sterilising the top of the product and the air and it can be kept, not in a fridge, but in a cupboard and can be forgotten about until you next want to use it six months or a year later - it works and is safe every time. I've never had a recurrence of mould since using this technique. Chris.

I just bought some lids and jars today - I got mine at the local True Value Hardware store. I've also gotten them at Ace Hardware, but Ace seems to be more seasonal than True Value. I live in a rural part of NJ (yeah, there's still a few left) so canning supplies are readily available here all year round. Tomatoes can be frozen whole, but they do take up more freezer space that way. Good luck in your search!

It's simply the best I have ever had. There is more than one thread on preserved lemons. I can't seem to find the other one and I think I started both.

I guess I will think twice about naming a thread going forward. If I find something I will post it later.

Sometimes threads are multi functional Like favorite recipes this month. So it could be lost on one of those kind of threads. I even looked at a preserving gifts thread.
