I am so grateful for my index finger. It allows me to scroll on by threads where I am tempted to board the "bashing" train. 'Nuff said. Have a great Sunday.

I can see your point Rita. The index finger is a major help in that situation. :)

I'm grateful that the wind has settled down. We were experiencing 50 mph gust yesterday. It's unnerving.

BJ, quitting coffee cold turkey is soooo difficult...I know I couldn't do it, then again I don't drink that much each day either..but you do live in the coffee capital so that makes it tougher yet...oh boy. Amy - I have that book by Dr. Oz and while he does use the "D" word what is said in it makes so much sense...basically nothing we don't already know but sometimes it helps to see it in on a page in black and white. I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday. Suzanne - no snow here just cooooold!!! Weird thing is it's supposed to get up near 50 by Sunday, very warm for this time of year. Flu is the pits - sounds like you are doing everything you can for it...((feel better soon)). Jen - glad to see you posting again! Bet the girls enjoyed Christmas. Milkdud, you will be so organized and I will be so jealous. Brrrrr...keep warm. Whenicit - glad to see you posting. Congrats on your upcoming anniversary! Dee - have a wonderful cruise!! I am up late, for me. My bigger dog Moose got a skunk out in the yard earlier tonight. I pulled him off, called the vet and then animal control. Moose is up to date on his rabies shots and has no marks or spray from the skunk..vet said to keep an eye on him. The skunk was really hurt and left my yard and moved to the woods, then back to my yard and then over to my neighbor (not home). Animal control came and looked all around but we couldn't find it...he thought maybe it had been hit by a car before Moose got him. The animal control guy said it may turn up dead in a day or two and if I find it to call and he will pick it up - hopefully if it dies it will do it in the woods. YUCK all the way around tonight. We are fortunate Moose wasn't hurt and no one got sprayed. That was enough excitement for me so I will head to bed. Enjoy your day tomorrow... Donna

Thankful that I didn't need to go anywhere or do anything, could be lazy here at home. Haven't driven the car since Sunday evening - when I stopped to get some milk on the way home... they were out, so I've been using it sparingly. Trouble is - there's some in the freezer, but it's rather large and when I went looking for it, wasn't able to find it, with minimal looking, today. Just found some, when I went down for ice cream - but it won't thaw for hours and I'll get fresh tomorrow, i.e. later today. Checked stocks - down a few thousand ... in the past month, that is - not just a day or two. Have some (real) bills that need paying, lost one for med tests for a while - tomorrow. Old Farts' coffee hour tomorrow, and must take Driver's Handbook back, plus do some printing at the library. Need to write some letters that I hadn't got around to before Christmas. Plus darn some socks. Enough to eat - including had one of those ripening tomatoes that I picked green at frost in the fall. Warm home. No aches or pains. Mind in reasonably good condition. Pleased that my licence will still be valid for a while longer, giving me time to take the necessary tests. Good wishes for various things for which to be thankful through the rest of the week. ole joyful

Im grateful my 16 y o GD is having her 4th and final knee surgery Friday. The first surgeon used screws that were too LONG and the tip has punched her muscle. All this time. At first her parents thought she was just a hypochondriac (runs in the family). But once the second surgeon saw it, he about had a fit. So, this is to repair the first surgery. Had the other one done Thanksgiving. What a way to spend the holidays, but she's my girl and she's going to be fine.

Happy Birthday, Rob! I've spent birthdays like that, too, both mine and my mom's. I'm grateful for Medicare...it has made looking after my parents' care and finances so much easier. I'm also grateful for means. Medicare is great, but my parents can also pay for the other "parts" as well as their long-term care that isn't covered. I'm also grateful that my dad has always kept meticulous records and maintained relationships with service people. This may sound awful, but I'm grateful that my mother had the flu just over a year ago. She ended up in the hospital with pneumonia as well. The doctor recommended rehab and recuperation before she went home with her caregiver. She went to the same rehab where my dad was already, and after a couple of months she recovered but moved directly to the memory care in the same building. It's been great for her, and for the rest of the family. It made the transitions much, much easier, especially on my mom.

I'm grateful that I haven't had one PVC ("skipped heartbeat") this morning (knock wood). They've been driving me nuts the past few days.

I'm grateful that hubby took down the Christmas tree yesterday. I had to repack all the bulbs, because he didn't wrap any of them, but still ... it was incentive to get me going!

I'm grateful that my brother-in-law is is not hurt worse than he is. He was in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday and broke his leg really badly and had to have surgery. He will be okay, though. Thank God.

It's over 50 degrees here, perfect for taking down the outside lights and hauling the tree to the curb. I am grateful that all the decorations are put away for another year. I'm also thankful that 2 out of 3 kids were here to tote the containers to the attic.

Sorry about the motorcycle accident - but I'm glad your brother in law will be OK. How's his bike?

Warmer weather!! 60s here today and 70s tomorrow. After being 10 last week this is a nice change.

I forgot to ask about the bike. lol I guess it doesn't matter because I doubt very seriously if he'll want to get on it again. He is/was getting ready to move out of the country for a job. In preparation for the move, he sold one of his vehicles and took the bike just for his transportation.

lulie, I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL but glad he is going to be OK!

For those of you who are enjoying warmer weather like we are (73 here right now!) - especially after a cold spell - isn't it a WONDERFUL change?! DH is out tilling horse manure into his garden, and I think I'll go watch just as an excuse to be out there!

Today, I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends.
Needed to make a big decision, so best friend and her DH came over for consultation, and between the three of us, think we came up with the solution.
