SO we 2 parapet walls on the roof (big boxes) with the air conditioners in each one. Foam roof under and wood inside the parapet walls. We need to have some work done to the foam roof and wood, so we there thinking of replacing the 2 air conditions that are about 15yrs old. I believe they are 3 and 4 ton 3stage commercial Temp Stars. I've had lots of bids and they seem to be all over the place. At this point I'm not sure who to pick!

First of all we live in Arizona and I have gas. So I believe they are called Gas Packs. The other problem is the Parapet walls are only so big .... and size seems to be a issue. My house has no attic & is 2900sr ft built in 1972.

I've had bids from 2 companys from Rosie in the House (great web site, he stands behind who he recomends)

INTEGRITY bid~ Recomends SMALLER units, he measured the house 3TON downstairs & 2TON downstairs 14SEER TRANE XL14c gas pack

$12,298.84 (smaller units than I have now? HUM)

HENDEL bid~ RUUD/RHEEM 4ton RRPLB048JK10X and 3ton RRPLB048Jk10X $8,712.51

HENDEL bid~ AMERICAN STANDARD 4ton 4YCY4048B1096A and 3ton 4YCY4036B1075A $11,01.95

Other Bids:

Quality home Maintenance YORK 14SEER 3&4 ton gas pack $11,014.00

ALSKAN home services~ RHEM (same units as HENDELS) $9,426.00

GEORGE BRAZIL~ YORK 14SEER 3/4 ton Heat pump (not gas)

$10,161.00 or gas pack $10,929.00 or RHEEM 4ton15SEER &3ton 16SEER $12,311.00 or TRANE 16SEER XL16c $14,205.00

BOB BROWN~(Costco) Lennox 3ton 14SEER & 4ton 14.5SEER $15,758.00

PAT BARNES~(small company)TRANE 3&4 ton gaspack 14 SEER XL14c $8,500.00 or 16SEER XL16c $9,800.00

PARKER ~ says that no RHEEM gaspack will fit in my parapet walls ONLY a Heat pump will 14SEERS 3ton RQPMA36JK000 & 4ton RQPM048JK000 $12,805.17 (charging $700 for a crane)

My last BID came from ARIZONA COLD AIR~ RHEEM he said he has nothing that will fit in my parapet walls! I must say I found that very intersting. He gave me several tips! Check out anyone that you hire (I alway check out the ROC #) and he was the one that told me that my units where 3stage commercial units: hence not a normal switch out.

SO how does one weed out the crap???? Some of the companys have several complains on the ROC#

1 co. said Lennox can't fit my house

2 co said Rheem doesn't fit

At this point all I can ask for is HELP
