Canning Newbie...help!

In my apparent ongoing effort to become prairie woman/self sufficient (for when we're attacked by zombies) I decided to learn to can. Just hot water canning for now - first effort tonight was 4 pints of pickled/spiced green beans. Everything went well I think, but now that they're out of the "canner" and on the counter cooling, 2 of them were in a puddle of the vinegar brine, just 2. Is this normal? Did I overfill it with beans or the brine?

An hour later while they're still a bit warm of course but all 4 lids are a bit concave. I know it's still too soon to think they're ok, but what do experienced canners think? lol

This is just my first venture into this, but I plan on buying the Presto 23qt pressure canner. I figure I can use it for hot water canning or pressure canning. The stockpot I used tonight only held 4 pints so obviously I need something bigger as once the garden really kicks in I'll be canning non-pickled things as well as various jams & salsas.

Thanks in advance!
