I think all the blocks have been mailed by now Sandra, but we all need to remember to post that we've received them when they arrive, hopefully with either pictures or a description. That way we all know that they aren't wandering around somewhere within the mail, which does happen from time to time. Cindy's mailed mine out with the others, I'm sure, but it hasn't arrived yet. As soon as it gets here, I'll post about it, letting her know it's here. When I send out blocks I start looking for postings that they've arrived. Until I see those posts, I'm left wondering, know what I mean? This is probably something we all start thinking about, making sure those arrival posts are done in a timely manner, y'know?

home again, and exhausted. who knew that waiting 5 hours in a hospital waiting room could be so tiring? and those chairs are NOT made for comfort! while I was waiting for my roomie to get through his tests, I got a phone call from my mechanic, letting me know that the transmission in my car is indeed shot, and the bill will be just under $2000. thankfully, I've been able to save up that much, fearing the worst. I will have my car back either Tuesday or Wednesday. okay, enough of my griping tirade. I'll post again tomorrow in a better mood. I did want to say though that Michelle's 8 blocks arrived today, and they are simply beautiful. It was like receiving a bouquet in the mail... thank you Michelle! Michelle appliqued flowers onto her blocks, and they've inspired me to try my hand at it sometime during this extended vacation. as santa would say... peace to all, and to all a good night.

Dan, you are right, those mug rugs from Melissa are fantastic! I took the short class on Cotton Theory today. I am always happy to learn something new, but I doubt I will get hooked on this technique. It's one of the quilt-as-you-go things and as you join sections of it, you get these little seams that are loose and need to fold them towards the center by doubling them over and then use a wide stitch to catch both sides. With the fabric and batting in there, it gets really thick and to me, it's easier to just quilt the regular way than to go through all that to attach the sections. I might try it one day with larger seams and less batting and see what I think of it that way. Ok, so I took this paper piecing quilting class in March. As we finished the class and were heading out the door, the teacher said, "Oops, it looks like I made a mistake in the pattern and she reversed all the "lefts and rights." So today I finished putting together the rows, laid it out on the bed to match the pattern and sew the rows together and it doesn't match. :( Evidently she shouldn't have changed the design after all. Now I have to rip apart 48 blocks, iron the seams, re-sew and re-iron the seams flat. However, I am telling myself compared to what much of the world is going through right now, this is nothing. It's just that I hate to rip! Always have. And I was looking forward to going to buy the border and backing fabric and hand quilting maybe this weekend when I go to visit my daughter. Sorry, that's enough whining for me. Since everyone has now sent their charms, why don't we call this thread closed and everyone start positing on Dan's part 2. See you there.
