I love burgers too.
One of my favorites is stuffed with smoked cheddar, with homemade pickles.

I love turkey burgers made with chives and Parm.

I like macaroni salad and prefer a side of sugar beans next to it.
We also love Baked Potato Salad.

Since seeeing these and making them, I don't think I will ever make them any other way. They were delish!

This is the best basic burger recipe I have ever made.... we just love them and thanks for the inspiration! I am going to spark up the grill for dinner tonight :-) My preferred toppings are either blue cheese, mushrooms and lots of pepper OR the traditional ketchup, onion, mustard, pickle.

Recipe Summary
Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 10 to 12 hamburgers
2 pounds ground chuck
1 pound ground sirloin
3 tablespoons steak sauce (recommended: Crosse & Blackwell)
6 extra-large egg yolks
1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter
12 hamburger buns

Carefully mix the meats, steak sauce, egg yolks, salt, and pepper with the tines of a fork, but do not mash it. Lightly form each hamburger and lightly press into a patty shape. Make an indentation and put a thin slice of butter inside each hamburger, making sure the butter is entirely encased in the meat.
Heat a grill, broiler, or saute pan and cook the hamburgers for 3 to 5 minutes on each side until almost done. Remove to a plate and cover with aluminum foil. Allow the hamburgers to rest for 5 minutes and serve immediately on buns.

OMG Caliloo- I can feel my arteries slamming shut just reading the recipe!!!

I gave up eating meat for a few years and one of the reasons I started again was craving a cheeseburger - I'd rather have a cheeseburger on the grill than any other kind of beef, no matter how choice or expensive the cut. There's just something about a burger.

But I don't eat them often because they're just so bad for you saturated fat-wise. I have to say, I like using Angus beef and other than a slice of cheese ontop, let the meat do the singing!

I have made them with some different cheeses stuffed inside, but I usually just top with a slice of cheddar or Swiss, sometimes pepperjack, maybe a slice of tomato if I have them fresh from the garden, maybe a little onion, and ketchup. Mosty it's just the slice of cheese and ketchup. Hubby likes his with mustard. And even tho I'm in Boston and we have horrid winters, there's always a path shoveled across the deck to the grill so we grill year round!

We had our first grilled burgers last night for supper. Nothing added to them before they were cooked, but topped with cheese, onion, ketchup and mayo. Delicious to say the least. The first one of the season is always the best, IMHO.

I am going to try this now that I have become the grill master at my house.

Bacon Burger Dogs
Ingredients:
1 pound of hamburger
1 pound of thin sliced bacon
8 hot dogs (the real deal, no cheap ones!)
4 slices of cheese (split the slices of cheese in half)
1 egg
16 toothpicks
Tin Foil Wrap

Combined hamburger, egg and your spices/seasonings to taste and form 8 hamburger patties. Spread out your bacon with every two slices being about 2 " apart. Slice each hot dog from end to end, NOT completely through, maybe half through the thickness of the dog and insert one half slice of the cheese into each dog. Place the dog on one end of the hamburger patty and carefully roll the dog while wrapping it with the patty. Place this carefully at the ends of your bacon, which should be spaced 2 " apart....(2 slices of bacon per burger-dog), carefully roll and wrap the bacon. Secure bacon to each burger-dog with two toothpicks.

NOTE: Leave each toothpick exposed on one side or the other in order to remove them after cooking. Wrap your burger-dogs with tin foil and place on grill over medium heat, but do not place directly over flame. Cook for half-hour and then CAREFULLY remove foil from burger-dogs (HOT JUICE-Be Careful!) Place burger dogs back onto grill for browning.

Serve with any condiments by itself or on a large Hoagie Roll

We do like burgers on the grill and have them various ways. I always want cheese of some sort melted on top. Also a packet of onions and mushrooms cooked alongside is usual. I like to grill extra burgers so they can later be nuked for a minute and still have the grill taste for later in the week or thrown into the freezer for a very quick meal when needed.

My only requirement is to put a nice dose of milk in the burger mix so they are nice and soft and juicy inside. Milk, salt/soy sauce, garlic powder and onion powder are basics.

Omg, Cathy, that burger dog sounds awfully good, lol. I'd leave the bacon off for me, but my DW Christy, would want it all. I'll have to surprise her with this one. She'll be in carnivore hog-heaven.

Oh another burger I like, that I've been fixing latey, because it's easy.

High-Speed Hamburger
8oz lean ground beef
1T caramelized onions from a jar(I've not included these. But did shake in some garlic powder.)
1 1/2 t buttermilk or plain yogurt
1 1/2 t soy sauce
1 1/2 t worcestershire sauce
good grinding of pepper
veggie oil for brushing (I don't brush them with anything.)

Mix, form into two patties. Cook for 2 minutes on side 1 and then cook another minute on side 2. Remove from heat and let stand about 1-2 minutes. This will give you medium rare.

I like just meat....preferably chuck....on occasion sirloin...just loosley formed into a patty and grilled medium rare....
kosher salt....and catsup.
No milk no egg no steak sauce etc...
But I have eaten a wonderful burger that called for mixing ground beef with some braunschweiger and a bit of garlic salt....and it was delicious.
but....mostly,,,just meat

I am not a beef eater but I love my hamburgers and am very fussy about them!!!! I confess I am a burger snob. Gotta be the real deal, makes me nuts when people serve frozen store bought patties.

I really don't have a recipe and like to mix it up. Probably my favourite is adding a good amount of my homemade chile sauce to ground chuck or ground sirloin.

Also love them with some grated onion, an egg, a splash of Worcestershire sauce and some diced cheddar.

Toppings for me are homemade dills, yellow mustard, hot peppers or hot pepper relish and sliced onions when eating them at home. In a restaurant I want extra mustard, dills, cheddar, sauted mushrooms and sauted onions....sometimes bacon!

Here is a pic of the "Canadian Burger" I invented for a hamburger cook off we had, on this forum, a few years back. Made with Alberta beef, Quebec 5 year old cheddar, pea meal bacon and an Ontario tomato......and my homemade dills. That was a fun cook cook off!

I very seldom eat burgers. It's odd, I know, I have a load of grass fed beef and could care less if I ever ate another burger in this lifetime. Elery is the same way, neither of us really likes ground meat whether it is turkey, chicken, pork, whatever.

My girls, however, love 'em. They want a nice thick beef patty, no turkey or chicken, LOL, topped with a thick slice of provolone and sauteed onions and mushrooms. Gotta have homemade buns, too. Amanda wants just mustard on hers, Ashley wants A-1 steak sauce.

My beef is so lean that a burger will stick to the skillet or the grill, so I always add some olive oil and usually an egg and some seasonings. Seasonings depend on my mood and is usually just salt and pepper but the Head Country Seasoning Lakeguy sent me is good too.

they both like them best grilled but wouldn't turn down a burger made any way you could probably think of. Neither one of them will eat a hot dog, though.
