Comments (5)LOLOLOL!!! I keep a journal as well..I have to write everything down or I would be soooo lost! When I broker (LOL big word) a trade I write it down then and the GW name or wherever that goes with it...I also use a email server (incredimail) that holds all email addresses processed..my other servers don't and I have lost a few..I also get a delivery confirmation on everything ..I attach it to who I sent it to.. they are .65 well worth the money to help me be responsible..Besides when I go back and look I will know if I really want to trade with them again and what came from where... Chena...See MoreNever mind the F word, try the I word!
Comments (27)Northspruce...ROFL..I thought the same thing about the "domestic help"...Very interesting...I'll remember to use DW...beacuse she is dear and like all of the spouses, thinks' I've lost my mind about gardning...oh, she loves the finished product...but thinks I'm nuts..(a debatable topic) Why I like this forum....there is a spirit about those of you in the far north I don't see elsewhere...I can't explain, sorta frontierish but more like resourceful..self reliant and innovative......I'd take the summers if I could do without the winters...then again, today I got bitten by fire ants, a real problem in the south...and every time it happens I SWEAR I'm moving to say...ORegon? Certainly not far north...but a 2 day trip away perhaps to Souther Canada... Anyway, I hope some of you continue to put up pics...I really enjly them. I spent all day planting things I got on sale for $1 at Lowe's, Salvia Greggii, some other salvia's, Tennessee coneflowers, and even some sad looking zinnia's...a good snip, some fertilizer, and they'll be blooming in 2 weeks...sure was hot today....90's...I';ll make you a deal,,I'll send up some warm if you'll send a bit of cool...of course, when the cool weather gets here, it means you guys are under snow...so I'll be patient! Sierra...batting eyelashes is no fair and against the rules!!!! ( even my daugher's now figured that one out...."Daddy"...flash flash....oh, the camera thing....shame on me, I have an nice (now old and not enough pixels) video with a still feature, I lost the download cord, so there it sits...so now I use an Easyshare 3.1 MP, bought it for my daughter...works for the most part.....and very handy...I'd like something that is simple to use, easy to download, and no fooling around with photo editing programs....and some good closeups.....and I just can't imagine what it looks like when cars go by.......See MoreThe 'Hosta Bug' bit me again & some questions!
Comments (4)Hello Cindy, I see you are in middle TN....I am in NW Mississippi, about a mile below Memphis but am in the Mid-South Hosta Society based in Memphis. Since TN is so wide you could be far far away but in case you are close enough our society will be having our annual sale next Sat. May 9th in Cordova which is just east of Memphis..... We will have over 1000 hostas with more than 140 varieties....and lots of hosta folks there who can answer questions. There is also a free garden tour at the home of the member who is hosting the sale this year. This is our 11th year and it's always a great day. Four years ago the sale/tour was at my garden and we had a lady drive from Birmingham! Also...I am the "Ways and Means" person for our club and we order the 10" rose markers from EON. That's what most of our folks like although EON and others sources have lot of different ones. We order at wholesale prices so we can offer them at a very good price to members. I'm sure other societies could do the same. Sounds like you have a great start on your road to hostaholicism (probably not a word but that's what it is!)Just be warned....there is no cure...and it gets worse every year Why don't you email me if you would like more info on the sale. It's pouring down rain here right now too and I can almost see the plants growing by the hour. Gloria...See MoreJULY FOTESS SWAP – FUN WITH WORDS
Comments (43)We had a short thunderstorm last evening. Hooray! No need to drag hoses around this morning. Here's POINT GAME Part 2 This one is based on our Bingo word bilingual, relating to two languages. The items numbered are colors in a foreign language. The items with letters are types of flowers. Your task is to match the numbers and letters so each pair is written in the same language. Each of the letters and numbers will be used only once in your answers. (I hope the same word is not used in more than one language, but I will check that in awarding points.) Send your guesses to me through Message or email. Simply post here on the thread that you sent answers so I will be sure to look for them. Example. If these were in English and #8 was “gold” and the only other English word on the list was h. “daylily”, you would give that as one answer: 8h. Send me all 7 guesses for #1-7. You are matching the items under numbers and under letters so they are written in the same language. The person(s) with the most answers right will get 5 points. For 2 extra points you can list which language each pair is. 2 more points if you correctly translate all the words into English. The last 2 parts are not required as part of the game --- just a bonus if you want to try for it --- and all 7 must be correct for you to get bonus points. Please send your answers to me by the end of the day Saturday. I'll announce the winner on Sunday. Once again, I hope this makes sense. I'm “creating” these games as I go along so I always wonder if my instructions make sense. czerwona blanc amarillo oranssi bílý flavo blau a. nelke b. gardénie c. lys d. tulppaani e. helianthus f. crisantemo g. róża Remember, this is the last day to send in your Bingo words if you are interested. Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the swap. Enjoy! Jeanne...See Morepostum
