It would be so easy for me to whine today about having too much work to do and not enough time to do it, but the bottom line is that I've played too much for too long during and after the holidays. Too much time at the KT, too much time playing computer games, too much time grazing the holiday leftovers...it's been hard for me to resume my normal pre-Christmas routine, and I have not been as productive as I need to be!

Well, instead of griping, I'm going to just say I'm GRATEFUL for a nice holiday and GRATEFUL it's over and GRATEFUL for the work assignments and GRATEFUL for the resolve to post this and then go to work rather than hanging out all day. :-)

PS: Ya'll run me off if you see me posting in about an hour, OK? LOL!

Sorry, I'm not going to run you off. I enjoy your company too much.
I'm grateful that I don't have to go work in that cold warehouse where there is no heat. I can stay in where it is cozy.

Not running you off here either. LOL I am grateful that I get to go tomorrow to be with my hubby. It hasn't even been a week but I sure miss him tons already...Stacy

LOL We are thinking that we might try to sneak off to NM while we are in TX for our anniversary since that is where we spent our honeymoon. Tikanis~You had a lot to do today, (or was it yesterday?) We snuck off with some friends & went to Tampa to a craft show. We borrowed a wheelchair & Dave pushed me around. I haven't heard anything so I'm guessing that they didn't find anything wrong. And, I know that I am doing better but I still hurt quite a bit. Who has Dr. Oz's book? Can anyone explain his theory to me & more or less what the plan calls for you to eat or not eat? I keep thinking that might be the sensible WOE for me, something that I could stick with. Marci~When are you coming this way? I keep thinking about Gretchen. Does anyone still keep in touch with her? Today was an awesome day. Bob got up early with me and we went out to pick up our order of Tangelos and on to the Mennonite Market... Did a little shopping and then back home again.. I sorted through some old coffee mugs and will be putting them in the spring yard sale for the Hope Fund at church..I know I will have tons more too. Christmas stuff especially.. I have waaaaay too much in the way of Christmas ornies.. I just keep the ones with sentimental value to them like some hand painted ornies my mom did and little gifts of ornies from a lot of really nice online friends I have met over the years.. Carolyn, It is so amazing when you can get more order in your life by purging what is just not working to the good in your life.... Hanging on to what is doing absolutely nothing but draining you either financially or physically or spiritually is not worth it... Kick it to the curb or give it away or sell it or donate it... but yeah.. don't let it drag you down.. sometimes things can act as an albatross around you neck..and will keep you from doing other things that really are worth while... besides, if you give it away or donate or so... then someone else may garner a really great blessing from it.. and guess what... your blessings will increase too..Just because you remove something from your life that is doing you no good, doesn't mean it doesn't have value.. to someone else it may be just fantastic.. It is turning cold for the next week, so walking will be brisk.. and not really long treks.. just a mile and a half.. and that's it.. toes get cold after that.. lol So ar this year I have walked every day.. and still watching my intake of calories.. so it's all good. Keep on keeping on folks.. and thanks for the squeezy hugs Dee.. we always can use a hug or two.. Stay well everyone.. CS

Okay, okay. You shamed me into it. Particularly since I'm on a diet and my every day meals are going to be pretty boring for a long while. I will start with an appetizer today. Tomorrow you will get a main dish and on friday, a dessert. I love to share recipes but I'm too lazy to get up and get my books out and type them up. This one is real easy. Both to make and to type. Good, too. Artichoke Ham bites. One jar of artichoke hearts. You can buy the marinated ones but I think they're too oily so I buy just plain artichokes, quartered and marinate them in Good Seasons Italian dressing. Wrap each artichoke piece with a thinly sliced piece of ham folded and wrapped like a pig in a blanket, secure with toothpick and place on foil-lined baking sheet. Just before serving, broil a few minutes until hot. Not too high in calories very tasty, and so so easy!

our pool had a good layer of ice on it yesterday...it wont ever freeze completely cause it's saltwater... There's lots of leaves and pine needles in it!

I am grateful that my routine is about to return to normal. My son returns to campus today and then I'll start taking down the holiday decorations - and then I'll clean.

I'm grateful my GS is going home today after a very successful, very fun visit for him. He's had cousins galore to play w/ and we've done just about whatever he wanted. He's cried once, when he missed his Mom, but other than that, he's had a great time. I'm all for building memories and while he won't remember this for too long, being 3 y o, the good feeling he has in his heart for us will never go away. He's a cutie pie, but now I need a break!

I'm grateful that I don't have a regular job to go to this morning. As so often happens these days, I had trouble sleeping last night, and was still awake after 2:00 a.m. Then I had to get up to walk dogs at 6:30. I am blurry! But at least I can take a nap later if the need arises. Which I'm sure it will.

I'm grateful for electricity. Just talked to one of my sisters whose electric has been out for 7 hrs now. And it's only just now in the 20's. Also grateful that both Annie and I are finally feeling a little better today. The body type flu is rampant at the home where she is. I figure that's probably where I caught it too.

I am grateful for the last two weeks I had off:) Which I guess makes me most grateful for the job I have had for the last 18 years that makes that posssible and made it possible to be kinda sorta a SAHM for my kids.
