Unsure...it came with the house. Dryer about a year.

Mine also came with our present house,so I know it's at least 15 yrs old.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it lasts until we sell next year.

The original one here is at least 6 years old, as it was here (and had been for a number of years) when I came to spend time with step-uncle for a while after aunt's death, almost 6 years ago.

The other one, stored for my offspring after their mother's death, when they cleared out and sold her/their home, is at least 5 years old, but I'm not sure how much older. It's much newer than the one that was Uncle's.

Actually, the original one was loaned to landlord's employee last year and was recently brought home, is sitting in the shop at the moment.

Both work well.

Probably 10 at least, and it's starting to wiggle around, DH is always leveling it for me.

I've had my Kenmore washer and dryer since 1983--so they are almost 25 years old. Never been repaired (said while knocking on wood).

Another timely question...our new one is being delivered tomorrow. The one it's replacing is a 7+ yo front-loader whose main bearing is shot. Our repair guy told us it's not worth fixing because it would cost $400+. He said that the majority of newer appliances are built with "planned obsolescence" in mind. The life span of newer W/D is between 6-8 years. He also told us to buy a "basic" model vs. a "top of the line" model because paying twice as much doesn't mean it will last twice as long. Sigh...

About 8 years old I think.

It's 10 years old in March, I looked it up. Seems like we only got it a few years ago, though. Same with the fridge, it's 15 years old and I remember the day it was delivered like it was yesterday. Still runs great, too, like the washer. And they both look new, too. Weird.

The one I'd had for 22 yrs finally gave up the ghost a little over a year ago. So current one is a little over a year old.

Two years old. Bought a front loader set when I bought my house.

My Kenmore is almost 8 1/2. I am sure it won't last as long as Wanda's. As msmarv said, they aren't built to last more than 7 or 8 years anymore. Everything was new, as was the house, in August 1998. We are soon going to have to start replacing everything.

About 15 years old now.

My Maytag washer and dryer are 20 years old.

Just got a new one last year replacing a set from 1990.

My GE washer I bought new in 1989, never broken yet and our kenmore dryer is from about 1988 and has had one belt replacement I did myself a few years ago.

I think the days of the long lasting washing machines are over

Washing machine is about 3 years and the dryer is about 2 years old.
Both of them have had minor repair.

1 year for washer and dryer.

Paul bought the Admiral washer and dryer set for the house when he was working for Walker Boy Appliances as a delivery driver and that was before he got married and he got married in 1984 so both appliances are at least 25 years old. The dryer was our first ever dryer.

LOL I did so much laundry (clothes and bedding daily)the years I cared for my Mom, after she died the hydro company called and asked if something was wrong since I was suddenly using so little water and hydro.

I can get by without a dryer but not without my washing machine.

We purchased our washing machine brand new in January 1982, so it's 26 years old.

I purchased the dryer brand new in July 1971, so it's 37 years old.

Both are Sears Kenmore, and both have had one repair.

And I purchased our 'fridge brand new in July 1971. It was originally Harvest Gold, but I've had it reenameled, and now it's slate blue. It, too, is a Sears Kenmore; and it has also been repaired once - the motor for the freezer fan was going out. That was in late 1990 or early 1991.

About twenty years old,it's a Kleenmaid and made in the
USA,it still looks brand new. :-)
