needing help identifying a king...

Can anyone here, please help me?

I was listening to a message of a Christian radio station the other day, and the story was so interesting. I've tried googling what bit of info I remember but am having no luck. Was wanting to print it out for my husband to read.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

I don't know if this was a real or fictional king, and think it took place in "Newkirk"... But, there was a very obese King (Ranulf??). His brother overthrew him and had workmen build a room around him. There was a window up high and an unbarred door, but the door was slightly smaller than normal-size.

Every day the brother had platters of succulent, tempting foods delivered.

Instead of losing weight to fit through the door and into freedom, the King grew even larger. He spent 10 years there until the brother died, but by time of his release, his health was so poor, the King lived only a year.

Hello -we have this very simple linen light light green duvet. I think this PANTONE color is similar (our duvet might even be a tad lighter). Our walls are grey. I also attached our rug that is under the bed. I am looking for ideas for shams, throw pillows, lumbar pillows etc. Any ideas for color/design/fabric? Number of pillows? I love pillows!! THANK YOU

Contact a Natuzzi dealer and they can probably help. In my experience even the cheapest Natuzzi is leather anywhere your body touches so maybe if it was a cheap sofa the back if all one piece will be vinyl for sure .

Probably Scots. 'Kirk' is Scottish for 'church'. However, there are likely plenty of towns called 'Newkirk'.

It sounds very similar to the story of one of the Sultans in the Ottoman Empire. He was locked in a room for years to protect him from siblings murdering him to gain the throne which was very common in those days.When he was told to come out to take the throne he was too afraid and remained in the room. There is a great book called "The Sultans' that covers every single sultan in the Ottoman Empire until its demise in 1908. I lent the book to a friend and of course, like with almost all my books loaned, it got stolen.

No, I don't think it was anything Oriental. Seems like the meanie brother's name was Richard, 'cause I remember thinking there sure were a lot of Richards in history.

It sure sounds familiar but I can't remember. I did a little searching and found a story but it wasn't the same. Just can't place it...

But check with the station, maybe they'll rerun it or maybe they have it available on their website?
