Filling cracks in old painted wood flooring

I may be looking for an easy way out on this, but any opinions will be appeciated.

We have a room that was a second floor outside deck way before our time owning the house. It is now fully enclosed and being used as a sun room with my plants in for the winter. We have painted the old wood tongue and groove floor with deck paint. Don't think current day deck flooring.

Beneath it is open to the outdoors, but the ceiling is currently insulated and covered in plastic. We want to finish this 'ceiling' to the lower deck.

Any water spilled on the second floor goes right through the cracks and the insulation is now wet/stained - this will need to be replaced.

We have just started looking into our options. Buying one full sheet of linoluem to water proof it; a wood putty that the floor would have to be sanded first and the putty would be worked into the cracks, then refinishing.

We are not familiar enough with the products available to choose what would be best. In a perfect case, we would just poly over the painted floor. We are concerned that it would not do the job and do not want to close up the ceiling below until we know for sure that anything spilled will not seep through.

Any wonder products out there like a thick poly coat that would fill in the cracks like they have for cement garage floors?

Thank you!
