Personal. I hate to get the prerecorded ones. How do you know you dialed the right number?

I have a long one actually and nobody pays attention to it. Most calls here are for my son who moved out last August. So if I see a # that I don't know, I let the machine take it. My message tells people what number they've dialed and that we can't get to the phone and to "leave a brief message: BUT, if you're calling for our son (I then give his name) please hang up and try his cell phone. Do not leave a message as he no longer lives here and we are not his answering service and will not forward any messages to him. Thank you!" Most people call every single day. He owes money......... :o)

I have a personal one. I don't care for the pre-recorded ones either. And I really dislike the ones that go into pushing one for this option, something else to page them...and then it repeats in Spanish. Seems like 3 minutes later you can leave a message.

We used to have a personal one but last year we got new phones and we just use the pre recorded one now.

Personal. When I get a pre-recorded one I never know if I have the right number.

pre-recorded. We had so many power outages, blips, as many as 3x day, I gave up trying to do a personal one. One summer I had a poem on mine and my FIL had a hissy fit and told my DH I was going to ruin his business. People were laughing when they left a message and I don't think it hurt his business one bit!

I don't have an answering machine on my home number and my cell phone is a business one. I think it is a "personal" message, but I honestly don't recall! It must be... Now I have to go check!

Until recently, I've always had a personal message on my answering machine.

Over the holidays, Summer and McCloud gave me one of their old phones which comes with pre-recorded message. My DS installed this same phone for me. I was sick then so decided to let the 'guy' in the phone do my talking/message for me.

Now, here's the funny part, the first time Summer and my DS call me, they hear this pre-recorded voice and hang up, only to call back when they realized why. LOL

We don't have voice mail on the cell and rarely turn on the answering machine that sits on the counter, in fact I can't remember the last time it was on. I think its DH's voice on it though.

No answering machine at home and no voice mail on cell, I don't want to be bothered. My kids know to e-mail me or call on cell as I usually have it with me all the time and others don't need to bother me.

Home answering machine has me saying:
Oh you got the machine!
But you know the routine
At the sound of the tone
Let your message be known

My cell phone has a personal greeting recorded by me, as does my voice mail at work.
