Comments (2)Travertine, especially honed and filled in a great choice, as long as you are willing to maintain it. All natural stones must be sealed to prevent staining. If I were you I would also look at Stone Peak, they have a product line that is almost identical to Travertine, and is a porcelain. This way you never have to seal the tile, and you can use an epoxy grout so the grout never needs sealing either. We have articles on our website below if you need more help. Comments (14)They WILL stain. And etch. And everything marble will do, except worse, because of the texture. Cement tiles are not rectified. I have no idea where that came from. Far from it. They are hand made in handmade forms. They are meant to be rustic, somewhat irregular, and have patina. Yes, a glass of wine will have a big red splotch. Yes the traffic path will have an obvious dirt path. Yes, tomato sauce will watch it and stain it. So will a can of soda. It is meant to bear the marks of life and to be imperfect. Comments (28)Scott and McAdams, I didn't put anything on any walls. But, my bathroom really doesn't have anywhere for accessories to go. Every wall is filled with paneling, doors or mirrors. Not a lot of opportunity. You can just barely see in the last picture, but there is a space above the linen closet where an old school tv was placed. I ended up putting a nine-candle black wrought iron sconce arrangement with large cream candles. I already owned, it fit and I needed to find a place for it anyway.
