Do I need T-molding for transition tile to tile?

We have porcelain tile in our master bathroom and also in the hall going to our master bedroom.

We are having wood-look porcelain installed in our master bedroom which is between the two areas.

Our tile installer recommends that T-molding be put in (like a small threshold) between the different types of tile. He recommends a wood look T-mold.

Is that recommended or necessary?

We have a similar situation in our den and the two different types of tiles just butt up against each other.

I'm thinking --if anything--to have a couple of rows of 1" X 1" tiles (like a mosaic look) for the transition.

Thanks for any input!
