An orchid a friend gave to me last October. Still looks great today!

I have high hopes for my orchid, after seeing yours and how long it's been blooming!

Mine is outside and I've done nothing to it but add a couple ice cubes early on and about five weeks ago. We have had a little rain here recently so it is getting water but that's about it. I do nothing special except look at it. :-)

I need to post pictures of one of my orchids it has suddenly started putting out new branches from the main stalk so far two big ones with many flower buds on each. There must be at least 7-8 per branch and it's not done yet. I can not wait to see the blooms.
Plus one of my others has started sprouting new buds from the end mitten and it looks like it will be quite a few.

Jodi just by the picture it looks like it needs water, I would definitely add a few ice cubes, it will start dropping flowers if it gets too dehydrated. It is a beautiful orchid. I had one of mine living outside but had to bring it in due to the cold.

Raven, the soil is very damp. Since I got it in mid-October, it's lost one petal. It looked droopy at that time, I added some water and by the next day it looked like the day I got it. Now the only thing that has changed is that the leaves are starting to yellow, perhaps from the cold. But the soil itself is wet.

Raven, you were a huge help with my orchid. You showed me what to look for, the "mittens" etc. You're the reason it's blooming. LOL

Here is a picture of DH and Elvira enjoying the sun this weekend. She always has to rest her head on something like it was a pillow. He moved his hands and she just readjusted to the other one. When she is in my lap it is either my arm or the arm of the chair. That is how she likes to sleep.

Hi Clare!
My cat Roxie is the exact same way! She has to be laying on your hand, arm etc. Is in the way when I'm trying to type, read the paper, do anything. It's hard with a furry, grey growth on my arm. LOL
