It's to be in the mid-50's once again today! So this is the waterfall area of our garden pond.

On last Saturday's hike I came across a Turkey Vulture sitting in a tree right next to the trail.

Great shots!! Jodi, I am one of those weirdos that love turkey vultures. We have a pair that roosts nearby each year, they are interesting creatures.

Lynn, I'm a little less enthusiastic about vultures. Last year I did a grueling 8 mile hike through dense brush laden with poison oak, huge boulders and ticks. Took me 9 hours. As I was reaching the end I looked up at a telephone pole in the parking lot there was a vulture holding a sign, you know, the kind you see people holding at airports, that had my name on it. With every last ounce of strength I had, I ran to my car. LOL

When I lived in the Southwest I finished lunch one day and laid down on my back for a 15 minute siesta. I woke up to a pair of Turkey Vultures circling above me. Break was over in a hurry.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!!! At both Ron and Jodi! I guess I wouldn't be so enthusiastic about them in either of those situations!! Tho we did laugh about the ones here this summer, they were out looking for lunch while a friend and I were floating in the pool, we were a bit concerned when they hung around a bit too long.

I can feel for you Ron... when my daughter and I were riding in Utah, with NOTHING around at all, no trees, no towns, just nothing.. we had some circling above us.
