Thinking of installing Brazillian Teak floors myself

Hello-

We just purchased prefinished Brazilian Teak 3" x 3/4" hardwood floors from Simplefloors.com. The floors should arrive at our house in 4 to 6 weeks. I am hoping to install them myself on plywood subfloor. No stairs, no real complicated cuts. I have install pergo twice, but never real wood flooring.

I have a bunch of questions...

1) Has anyone had a negative experience with Simplefloors.com? Its kinda too late at this point, but if theres anything I should watch out for, I am all ears.

2) Is a pneumatic flooring nailgun a proper tool for installing these floors?

3) I have read that these floors should be predrilled before nailing. I am hoping to use a pneumatic floor nailer and NOT pre-drill. Is it standard practice to NOT pre-drill Brazillian Teak if using a flooring nailgun?

4) I plan on installing plastic sheeting over the subfloor. I have heard theres also a thin rubber padding which can be installed. Is this necessary for this flooring?

4) Are there any installation tips you would like to share for Brazilian Teak?

Thanks for reading. This is a great forum!

cheers-

Dustin
