Laminate flooring installation questions

I have two questions about installing laminate flooring in my basement. For one, the space is sort of T-shaped. I plan to start along a wall of the leg of the T and work out from there. When I get out of the leg area and into the wider space, I'll need to work off both sides of the installed planks. Is that a problem?

The second question has to do with the transition to existing tiles in a bathroom. The thickness is about the same for the tiles and the laminate. The laminate flooring will be installed across the doorway there. How much of a gap is required and how do I fill/cover that? I've laid 3/4" hardwood against tile before and only left a small gap which I filled with caulk to match the grout. Is that acceptable with laminate flooring or do I need to use a transition molding which will leave a visible bump?

I'm using SwiftLock Plus by Kronotex. It's 6" wide with attached underlayment. It will be installed on concrete with a 6 mil vapor barrier.

Thanks in advance.
