Have you tried any of these soapy perfumes?
Comments (14)Yes, sadly, Fleurissimo is expensive. My kids never know what to give me for Christmas, so I tell them to get me a bottle. It works out for everyone! I first found it at Harrod's in London. At that time, it was very hard to track down in the US. I only found one store that sold it; the store was in Seattle, so shipped it to me. Now it is more available and several of the better department stores carry it. However, I haven't found anyone who discounts it very much, even online. If you like it, buy the larger bottle. It lasts well and is much less expensive per ounce that the smaller. A word of warning: Do not be tempted to keep applying it because YOU no longer smell it. It's one of those perfumes of which the wearer loses the scent, unless applying nose to wrist. But everyone else can still smell it and love it. I get so many favorable comments every time I wear it. Some people do not even realize it's a perfume they smell, because it is not at all perfumy-smelling. It's a clear, light floral scent. I hope you enjoy the sample. Just remember to keep sniffing your wrist!...See MorePerfume talk, Take Two
Comments (46)Okay, I'm sorry that I dragged my poor daughter into this discussion. As I said she was embarrassed, but also a bit peeved, as the lotion she had on wasn't strongly perfumed, just your basic drugstore skin lotion. On a lighter note some of the comments reminded me of an email story that's circulated for a while: I was due for an appointment with the gynecologist later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare. As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pajamas, wet the washcloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the washcloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment. I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, 'My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?' I didn't respond. After the appointment, I went home. The rest of the day was normal ... some shopping, cleaning, cooking. After school when my 6-year-old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, 'Mommy, where's my washcloth?' I told her to get another one from the cupboard. She replied, 'No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter and sparkles saved inside it.' Never going back to that doctor . Comments (9)I don't trust companies to do the right thing because history shows that most of them don't. They will if there is something in it for the company...Oh lets see there is a tax break...OK we can do XYZ...no tax break...Oh this thing is impossible to do..we need incentives. The larger the company is the less it can be trusted. The product I create damages humans?....No it can't do that...we test everything...Ever heard that line? Companies are In business to make money - that's it..and what ever good comes from the outcome may trickle down to the consumers...but lets not fool ourselves and think that the first thing a company is thinking about in its meetings is not profits, how to make them... and how to keep making them...everything else comes along for the ride. My personal gut reaction to the problems with the Detroit auto makers is to let them pass out of existence. They are the ones who have not made cars people wanted and they have been at their game for over 20 years. The reason ford is not in as deep of trouble is because they retooled some of their cars sold to foreign markets and were able to sell them to the USA consumer. What about the other auto makers...what were they doing...Oh that's right - offering incentives to buy cheaper gasoline while selling Hummers getting 10 miles per gallon. But on a practical level I don't want the people who work for the auto makers...the folks who did what they were told and followed the car manufacturers design, to get the short end of the stick. It is as unfair to them as it is for taxpayers to foot the bill for the loan. Also what of remaining workers in other companies that are part of the auto supply chain? I am in favor of a loan with conditions. The car makers need to come up with a concrete path forward which includes goals that can be measured and assessed for improvement and achievement. No improvement - no more loans. Even a loan may not help. Loan them the money...people are getting laid off. NO MONEY....so who is going to buy a car next March? THEN WHAT? How about a switch in focus? Let them start manufacturing mass transit vehicles so we can have a good rail system like Europe has. Going to work?...take the train. Back to Downy - I really liked the performance and scent of Downy Advance...This new Downy stuff I mostly avoid because it smells so strong and lingers in the clothes for days, and to me the clothes don't feel good they feel slippery....See MorePerfumes (fragrances) we have known and loved
Comments (54)Friend of mine and I wore Windsong all during high school. She bought me a bottle a few years ago and it was AWFUL to me now! LOL Don't know if my body chemistry has changed, or my nose is better now! LOL Used to love White Linen. Wore Ralph Lauren's Romance for a long time and now I'm back to wearing Burberry (the original scent). Don't wear a lot of anything - used to teach with a girl that turned me off of all scents for a long time. She bathed in whatever she wore. Isn't it funny how so many memories are tied up with our noses!? LOL...See Morejampack
