Happy New Year for all of us but the cat...

I went out there...checked inside her box..she was nestled in there...I put her food in her bowl...I feed her inside her little house..

The the kids started blowing their noise makers. Criss my oldest was having fun with my cast iron triangle dinner bell....Clangity Clangity Clang...Lots of hollering and laughing...I turned back around to check on Miss Kitty...she was gone....

Poor thing...she is so afraid of everything.

Next year she'll be living in the house nice and warm and feeling safe.

Anyway I hope those dogs aren't still here next year.

The rest of the adults here are playing the new charge card Monopoly....it is a marathon...I got way too bored...gave mine back to the bank...I couldn't stand to sit there anymore..

I think next time I play cards or a game I'll roll my computer chair in there and sit in it...Otherwise my legs just get too jumpy.

Happy New Year Patti. I hope you have your house back soon and then Kitty will feel safe and secure.

I blew a noise maker like I do every year and my Lucy takes off. I just have pick it up and she runs for the hills. LOL She remembers it from last year and the year before.

I am off to bed shortly unless I can find something good to watch on television. I don't have cable so the pickings are slim. LOL I am just waiting for the fire to die down so I can shut the glass doors on the fireplace. I don't like to go to bed while there are flames still going.

It started snowing a couple of hours ago and everything is white outside. Lots of shoveling to do in the morning.

Cats all in the shed, asleep in their nest made of bales of straw.

At least ... I think they are.

Unless they're having their own celebration.

Ei, babble on! Your musings are always fun to read! 'bug, Love the picture of Ivy and dad with Reed in the backgound. Is there anything sweeter than a sleeping baby in your arms? Skyler and dad look mighty fine in their beautiful jackets. Any story behind those? Well, I went to the dentist and am scheduled for the first round of surgery on my gums on Monday. Yuck. Seems I really do need about $30,000 of dental work including crowns for almost every tooth! I am so irked. Then, today I have our regular workmen here. I wanted a new fan in the hall bath because the old one seems to blow only when the heater in the unit is running, too. Mostly, I just want the fan. Time was, this would have been a DH job. Seems those are few and far between these days as my list just grows and grows. Talk about being irked! I scheduled Jorge before the good news from the dentist. Anyway, I thought it would be a quick, cheap, and easy job replacing the fan/light/heater unit. Think again. One of his guys was up in the attic and came down through the ceiling above the tub-not all the way, but wow, what a hole in the ceiling. So now they have to patch that. Jorge is wonderful and I am sure he won't charge for it, but what a pain in the neck. I always feel that any job here becomes much more complicated than he expects it to be. He's one of those quiet types, so I never know what he thinks about working here. He probably cringes every time I call. The people who lived here before us were not prone to doing things the right way, so one thing always seems to lead to another and in trying to fix the jerry- built old set-up, the guy just put his foot though the ceiling. Oh well. Kathy, I am so going to need that reunion in June! I am determined to figure it out! V, keeping my fingers crossed for you. Nice to get good news at work, isn't it?! Michelle, beautiful progression of shots. Oops-got to go get Jorge some paint for the newly repaired ceiling. He is using my hairdryer to dry the patch-lol. Later, all.

Happy New Year to you too! I love darling Babe...always have admired your pictures of him. Love, love ginger kitties. And of course, dear sweet Bowie too! They are always so precious to see. Your birdfeeder reminds me of mine, overflowing with birdies. This winter is a record-setter for us in bird visitors. We have never had so many at our feeders. We put up feeders everywhere and it is paying off. We've an assortment of different feeders and suet cages and are delighted with so many kinds of birds coming. Lots of snow here too and very cold temps, so I'm glad we can help the birds get through the tough winter. Pretty daylily too! Celeste

Katy, Logee's is certainly an adventure in itself. I've been going there for years. My first times were when Joy Martin was running it. Even squeezing through the aisles single file is worth it. So many exotic plants growing over, under and around! It's only about a 40 minute ride for me. I don't know of any other greenhouses that have that kind of variety. The botanical center at Roger Williams Park here in Providence is big and interesting. There's a $3 admission though. Lunch afterwards would not be a problem. Providence has tons of great restaurants. Maybe some others here would be interested in one of these or something else. Bill

Talk about boring. I went to bed at 9:00. The DGK's left about 4:30., and I had 2 glasses of wine, and some crackers and cheese. Jayden was here 2 days (Sat. night through Mon.), then Carley came Sunday night. No daycare yesterday, so I watched them. He's always busy, like any 2 year old.

Happy New Year to you too, Patti! I'm so glad that the fireworks don't bother Tatum. She happily played and slept though all our neighbors celebrating last night.

Our cat, Cujo, lives outside and she's the type that if she didn't like the noise, she would probably attack the neighbors instead of running away. LOL I don't think she's afraid of anything!!!

Quiet here in KCMO, too. I didn't hear a sound after I went to bed at 9 pm - just don't like the noise anymore! Have a wonderful NEW YEAR'S DAY everyone!

We watched Harry Potter last night and went to bed. Still tired and watching another 12-15 cm of snow falling today and dreaming of a shovel that works by itself....

Wasn't long after our noise stopped that Miss Kitty came back...she hadn't eaten so I tucked her back in the box pulled the blankies down over the doorway and I think she stayed in there. I hope so..we were in for a cold night.

I gave up on the forever lasting boring Monopoly game...Denny finally gave up...then Jeff gave up...but the girls and son in law played until someone actually won...that was two o'clock.

Then they picked up and went home...Left a couple kids here for the night...

Then I crashed.

Was a good night....except I was too tired...

We used to feed an old tom cat that's been here since we built in 2004. He was very wild but we were able to reach down and pet him on a few occasions when he was eating. He always knew if he sat at the back door long enough, I'd feed him. Old Tom disappeared last July 4 and never came back. :-( I miss that cranky old fart.

Glad she came back, Patti.

We had a tom cat show up here about a year ago, and I am just now getting so I can pet him. I named him Cat Daddy, but little does he know, very shortly he is going to the vet to be neutered. Hey...at least he has a forever home. :)
