I've been using the Gervalia coffee pods in the Senseo coffee machine my sister lent to me. I really liked the Breakfast Blend and the Colombian, the Traditional coffee was a little weak. I haven't tried the tea pods yet but I think they are green tea and lime.

My sister brought large baggies full of the Gervalia coffee pods back from her last visit to St. Louis. She said my cousin's housekeeper Elizabeth knows someone in the coffee business and they gave her bags and bags of coffee which she passed on to my sister.

I am hoping to get more pods on her next visit.

So Lori, how long did it take to receive it? My DH tried their coffee years ago at someone's home and loved it!

I received mine many yrs. ago- also free with the use of their coffee. Like I said, many yrs. ago and it still works. Mine is white, not as pretty as this new one. Enjoy it!

For some reason she thinks it's an intruder.

I have the same one.We got lazy since we got it....set it every night...even weekends.I forget what we got with ours...I think a cup or something.We love ours! Gee! We all have matching pots! LOL!

So do any of you actually drink their coffee? What is your favorite brew?

I do like their coffee, but don't drink it often. I like my coffee strong and no matter how strong I make the Gevalia coffee, it is just so smooth. No upset tummy. But that is also the reason I don't drink it often. It seems that it takes much more Gevalia to make a strong cup for me. So much that it sometimes bogs down my coffeemaker (the Gevalia travel pot - love it - it brews right into our travel mugs). The grind is so fine, almost powdery, and the wet grounds will form a sort of plug and the water will overflow. Still, every once in a while I will treat myself to a cup or two, kind of like a dessert.

It is spell Gevalia...NOT GERvalia and I don't like their coffee.
I made a pot of the Mexican blend and threw it out and made a cup of folgers.
Gevalia is too bitter for my taste.
Gevalia recommends you brew 1 scoop of their coffee per cup made which I did. It could be the coffee was just too strong for my taste OR I don't like the blend.

Two blends came with the coffeemaker; the mexican blend and colombo. I will try the colombo tonight and see how I like it.

I got confirmation from Gevalia this morning confirming the cancellation of my membership.

And my pot is different from Jenni's too.
I will post a picture tonight after work.

I can see where Gevalia could cause trouble in the maker, Donna. Their blends are very fine and powdery and I agree; it would take far more coffee than I could afford to brew two pots of Gevalia coffee a day.

I wish they had offered Kona in the introductory package because I like Kona blend.

Donna, I think they offer whole bean and you could grind your own. Then it wouldn't be powdery.

Duh...note to self: read ALL the replies before responding.

It didn't take long at all to receive the package. Less than a week. I THINK I ordered it on New Year's Day or perhaps January 2nd. At any rate, it came quickly.

I love the automatic timer. My old pot had one that worked for about a week (it was a dollar store brand......) and I never bothered to replace it until now.

Cool looking coffee pot! I always think about doing the Gerflafverlaia offer but I am always afraid I will end up with a $200 coffee pot. Sounds like it is easy to cancel though.

I always unplug my coffee pot, so the timer woudn't do me much good. I am afraid my house will burn down if I leave the coffee maker pluged in, LOL! Hey! It has happened! There was a bad fire a few years ago in Iowa, and it was the coffee maker that started it...

I like to brew mine, then put it in a hot pot so it stays hot all morning, but doesn't get that yucky burnt taste.

I have a one of those thermal hot pots that I got from Pioneer Seed Corn (one of those $60,000 freebies, lol) - it keeps the coffee hot all day. I heat it up first with some hot tap water while the coffee is brewing.

I love the Gevalia coffee....right now we are mixing the Breakfast Blend with Mocha Java and it is perfect.
We have both the big coffee maker from them and also the travel coffee pot, which is what we use most of the time.

I didn't like or dislike the free coffees they sent. It was ok. I'm a Folgers gal too tho.
The coffeemakers are very nice and I suppose if one were so inclinded they would make a nice gift too.
They are always changing the model of their free ones.

I have a friend who ordered the free pot and then cancelled before buying the coffee. I thought about doing it too but I don't really use my old coffee maker that much...mostly just buy instant.

We got it too- it's just waiting in our garage for when our Hamilton Beach goes caput. We ordered the Gevalia b/c I hate the HB maker so much- it leaks!

I read on Consumer Reports about a year ago that the free Gevalia coffee makers are the best ones! Pretty cool!

I have the same one Glenda has.Got it over a year ago.I got a travel mug with mine and also got tea bags.I think they upgrade/change the pot and the free gifts ever few months.Every time I get an offer in the mail or on the internet it's a different pot.I want one like Lori's!LOL I cancelled after the second coffee shipment.I got a notification from them afterwards stating that I am still a member and can buy from them with no obligation.I like the coffee but it is too expensive.We don't drink a lot of coffee but when kids and grandson is here we make quite a bit.
Lori-I use about 1/3 less of the Gevalia coffee per cup and that seems to work.I actually have to cut down on the amount of Folgers per cup too.I think it may be something with the pot that makes the coffee stronger,maybe because it is so finely ground?.
I have misplaced the instructions and have never been able to program the auto timer(even after reading the instructions)!LOL

I have the same coffee maker! I got the coffee maker, two st. steel travel mugs and a thermal carafe. Have had it for over a year and it makes really good coffee, Folgers or Gevalia. When I first got the coffee maker and tried it out, the coffee tasted terrible. I finally read the instruction book and it suggested using filtered water. I tried that and it made all the difference in the world......really good coffee. I was a member for about a year and a half and got a small shipment of coffee (you can change your choices on their web site monthly) every 6 weeks. Used it for special treats, otherwise a Folgers fan! Cancelled this past fall, but only after getting my property tax statement and decided I needed to make some changes in my frivolous spending!! No hassle at all in cancelling the membership. Enjoy your new good coffee !

Gevalia accepted my cancellation this morning but left open the option to buy coffee.

We drink coffee every day. Always in the morning and nearly always in the afternoon. It's been awhile since I had a quality maker. It's too bad I'm not interested in Gevalia's coffee but I'm not. The company must sell enough coffee to justify giving away the pots.

Glenda, since you kids gave you a membership in addition to the pot, you'll have to let us know how you like the coffee you'll be receiving in the next year. According to Gevalia's brochures there are coffees' for every season plus special blends.

My only disappointment, and you really can't call it a disappointment...lol...is I was to receive travel mugs but got cups instead. Very very nice cups, I must add; ones that will be well used. All of our travel mugs are junk...the lids leak if we can find them at all...they don't fit the cup holders in our vehicles, etc. etc. A new set would be useful. But oh well. I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth! I don't care how old he is!

I just received the winter edition of the Kraft food & family magazine and in there the offer for the Gevalia coffee pot (the 12 cup programmable, thermal carafe and travel mug) says no further obligation after your third additional Gevalia delivery.

I just recieved the Kraft Mag too and am thinking of ordering one but I have a question.

The pot in the advertisement looks just like the one in Lori's first post, but the second one she posted a picture of is different. Do you get to choose, or do they just send you whatever they have?

You can choose between a black coffeemaker or white.
I was surprised my coffeemaker was so different from Jenni's (the first picture) because she got hers not very long ago.

I canceled the day after I got my pot and it was no problem.
I was promised traveling mugs too but got some very nice coffee mugs instead...not a problem. I like nice coffee mugs and these are very nice.

The offer in the magazine, in case anyone is interested is 14.95 plus a SS carafe and a SS travel Mug but you have to accept three deliveries of coffee before you can cancel.

Can't decide between the internet offer or the magazine offer. It's so stressfull! LOL

Since I've been receiving different offers via e-mail, you guys had finally convinced me to try them out.

Below is the deal I selected. I ended up also purchasing the 4 seasonal coffee special. Besides the coffee, it came with a cream carafe and a porcelain tea canister of the same color.

So, how long did it take from the time you placed the order online until you receive the shipment?
