CaT scan tomorrow.. cross your fingers

that it shows that the chemo is working! please!

won't get the results until Thursday morning before my scheduled chemo!

OMG Sandy, Just read this post and you talked about thrush. That is a nasty, nasty word in my book. I supposedly have asthma and am on the inhaler Advair. After too many, too many bouts with thrush I went cold turkey off of Advair. I got thrush back in February. It got so bad it went to my throat and tonsils. Even my gums were bleeding. I couldn't even drink tea I was in so much agony. I lost 5# because I couldn't eat. I still had thrush in May after a month of being on Diflucam to take it away. I could eat but it still hurt, and forget about taste. I lived on applesauce, jello and pudding. On Father's Day this year I thought I had a small stoke. It felt like someone had stabbed me in the left side of my head with a sharp pencil, then my whole left side went numb, even my tongue. The MRI showed I had a slight brain aneurysm that had healed itself. That was it. I decided the Lord gave me a second chance at life and I wasn't going to abuse it. I am now on a strict low-sodium diet. I have lost 30#. It seems like the pounds are just melting away. If it ain't natural it ain't going in my body. I gave up diet pop, and anything with splenda, neutrasweet or aspartame in it. I have been told I have had asthma and allergies my whole life, and I can't believe the difference. I haven't used an inhaler since February and don't have a problem breathing. I haven't had an asthma attack (thank God) and this is the first year I haven't sneezed my head off during allergy season. I am up to 1.60 miles on the manual treadmill and can bench press 50# on the Bowflex. I don't care what my allergist tells me, I refuse to put anymore steroids into my body. That's what caused the thrush in my mouth and throat, steroids in the Advair inhaler. I feel like I have been reborn. Jenny

Well, well, positive thoughts and crossed fingers for you Dottie! I sure hope all works out. I've had a pipe dream for decades about moving to northern MN and I still check real estate listings occasionally. Found several places that were interesting and it never worked out. Usually wound up waiting so long that the place sold. Last one I found though really bugged me a bit. It was in Aurora, which isn't really the place I wanted to be, BUT, the price was right, it was a single level (with basement of course), very handicapped friendly, breezeway between house and attached garage, nice big lot... so I was packed and heading up to check it out and sure enough... it had sold. It's a good time to buy now so I wish them luck on getting a great deal and moving close to a great lady! Uh, don't suppose they'd have an extra room.... naw, spose they wouldn't! :D FWIW, the friend of mine who died of MRSA about a year ago had her summer place only about 12 miles from you Dottie. Her ex-stepson bought a small farm there and they built a little apartment on the side of the pole barn. I had been offered to stay there while I look for a place but those plans got a monkey wrench thrown into it too! Oh well, I look at it this way: If it's meant to be, it'll happen and if not, there's nothing I can do about it anyway. Good luck on your dream and your DD/DSIL's dream coming true! It's fun to think about it, isn't it? How quick would they be looking at moving?

thank you so much everyone! Now the waiting begins. I have an app't with Doc on Thursday before my chemo.. i'll know then. it was a comedy of errors... the machine broke, the repair person was in, took the nurse two times to access my port, I dropped my eyeglass case in the parking lot as I was leaving and trying to get my sunglasses out. (Only the case broke)... I met DH as subway afterwards... and DS's team lost their first game yesterday... to the worst team. lol

Thanks Mustbenuts and Alku! Grout tomorrow! Jenanla - We are so over budget with the home remodel, I had to cut costs everywhere possible. So I ordered some very inexpensive knobs and pulls with the idea that if I wanted to upgrade them in the future, I could. I wanted 3" standard holes to help facilitate this. Anyway, I purchased them from Your Home Supply, an Ebay store. They are in a finish called Swedish Iron. They do not make the knob anymore, but they still make the "arch pull." The best part about them is that I really like them! No intention of upgrading them. I hope they age well, but even if they don't, I could replace them quite a few times and still be ahead cost wise. Only problem was trying to match the finish for the appliance pulls. I found a match, but they were much more expensive! HTH Here is a link that might be useful: Your Home Supply - Ebay Store

I'll be hard to do all my "chores" today with my fingers crossed, but I will keep them crossed as much as possible. Meanwhile, I'll put a red shirt on for you today.

Good luck to you. Just out of curosity--DH's dr has changed from CT scans to Pet Scans. It is radio activity, less invasive on the internal organs, and not drinking that orange stuff. Instead he gets a low dose radio active intervenious shot, but not thru his port, and his Dr. sait it shows more. But then not every cancer center has his avaiable.
Just a thought for you to check out.

You've got them!! I had my cat scan last thursday,and go for the results this thursday.I had my one year cancerversary in Oct last year.
Praying for all of us dealing with this monster that we will kick cancers A**.
