I had no problems in the den of the house we sold last June. At the time, I put it in, I had a Chow, and 2 Bassets and 2 cats. The main entry to the back of the house was also there. It looked as good the day we moved out (after I scrubbed, all our muddy footprints, from the rain that decided to help us move) as it did the day I put it down. I put 600sq ft of it down in this house. We now only have 1 Basset, having lost the Chow to old age, and one Basset to health issues, and still have the 2 cats. It is in the kitchen area here too. It gets a lot of abuse, and even though it has only been used for a bit over 3 months, it looks great. I used the golden oak. Good luck to you.

Thank you for the info. We have a Golden Retriever, Jack Russell and Shih Tzu. Our other Jack Russell died last year and we got the Golden puppy. I missed having a Jack around (now, I don't know why) LOL. So I adopted him from a rescue and the Shih Tzu puppy was recently given to us by a friend who decided they didn't want to deal with a puppy. Right now, we have carpet in most rooms, not a good floor for puppies who are housebreaking.

Sounds a bit like this house. Seems, we always say, no more, and then end up with 3 to replace the one. Oh, and I did forget one dog. We have a very small Chihuahua that belongs to my grandaughter here too. She has sharp little toenails, and no marks from her either.

I will be using this in a dining room and hall. Do you have felt pads on bottom of chair legs? I put 4 planks of this down in my laundry room over painted concrete floor just to see how it wore before I purchased it. I had to move my washer out yesterday to get something that fell behind it. I was impressed. No scratches or any damage from sliding washer across the planks. Do you have any separation between planks? I know self stick can do that after a while. Thanks for any info.

No, I have no pads under anything. Part of this is a 4 and half foot wide, very heavy traffic, long hallway, that goes back to bedrooms, and baths. The rest of it is kitchen, dining room, and family room combination (might call it a great room, not sure what it was called in the 70's when this house was built) I have moved the refrigerator and freezer around on it several times, since we are still working on this place, and probably will be for another year or two. I have moved the heavy very old dining room table and chair dozens of times, and the couch gets moved out a couple times a week, because of where the heating and cooling vents are installed, and it blows all the pet hair underneath it, and up by the baseboards. No, I dont have any separation, yet. In our old house, I did have one plank with a very slight separation where the ends meet. It was like it shrunk about 1/16 or so. I used some golden oak filler I had, and you had to look very hard to find it. I am undecided, yet, whether to continue this into my very long laundry/sewing area, and in to the bathroom beyond it, or if I would prefer the Eurostone vinyl tiles that I used in kitchen, and baths and laundry in our old house. This house has regular hardwood in all the bedrooms, and ceramic in other bath, so might be nice to have something a bit different than the wood look everywhere. We also have a grandaughter and great grandson living with us, and the walker is all over the floors, and highchair gets pulled across it all the time too.
