"Fortunately,I can say,I have not known anyone close to me,my family,or in my personal life that has had the misfortune of that awful disease" - wow, that's amazing, it seems like everyone I know either has cancer or knows someone with it. Of course, most of you know my son (almost 4 years old) had cancer, he's still considered in remission. I believe he's been cured though. It will be 3 years in July, since his last dose of chemo. He has a scan on the 22nd of this month - his last bloodwork (Feb) was fine, PTL. As far as our family though, other than one great aunt having breast cancer and my uncle having skin cancer and my FIL's colon cancer (caught early and he's doing great) there's not a lot of cancer in my family. And I have a large family. Bradley's cancer was a very rare type, we were part of a study they're doing to try to figure out what causes it. Patti, so strange! My friend Cherlyn has leukemia as well - although she was diagnosed in November for the first time and is in remission. She just had her last round of chemo after having arsenic treatment. One of my best friend's SIL's just died of leukemia two weeks ago. My neighbor just died after her second round of breast cancer, end of last year. It seems like everyone on my street has had cancer in their household - and I just heard on the news the other day that TN has the 3rd highest cancer death rate in the states, so I guess it doesn't just seem like everyone either has it or knows someone who has it, they really do! I am afraid of cancer. I fear that I might already have it and don't know it. A friend of my mom's has a daughter that was just diagnosed and mom says she just seems so healthy, you'd have never known. She went to the doc for something else and they somehow discovered it. Apparently it's all over and they cannot find the source, so they can't even treat it. We have seen a few of the children we knew from when B was in the hospital pass away and it just breaks my heart. Having gone through it with him, I just feel so lucky he had the type he had. I just can't even imagine watching your child go through all the pain and suffering, then not even come through it. Ugh... It's too sad to even think about. I don't understand it either. I wish they could find a cure for all types.

Sorry, yes, LeAudra is my niece, my brother's child. I've never had children; she was the first of all the nieces and nephews and has always been "my special baby." Of course, now that's there's 12 of them, all the neieces and nephews are "my special babies," but she's my special first-born girl, just as Christopher is my special first-born boy. I'm very fortunate that her mother, my SIL, has always "shared" and let her visit whenever I wanted. She spent most of every summer, from age one until she was 16, with me.

You can also try something like a large cork board - I used to love those when I was growing up, pin up pictures and things from different events etc. Is the window used alot? You can also try something out of the box by doing a curtain rod across the entire back of that wall, sheer if you want natural light in or a thicker fabric to keep light out

Ditto with Dave - this is a first I've heard that "forks" killed a tree. Maybe several dozen that severed ALL the roots? Oh well, bummer. I'd give it a chance to recover if the branches are still green. Recovery takes time, so be patient (6 months - 1 yr). Cori Ann, you can grow ANY Grapefruit in Livermore. you have the warm nights in mid summer that will sweeten the fruit up. And that is the key... where south Texas has those warm nights early on that sweeten the fruit by February March, our cooler spring delays the ripeness until late June/July or even August. Having said that, I just had an Oroblanco for breakfast yesterday morning.. and a Redblush this morning. the OroB has sweetened up and NICE (first decent crop - took 3 years). The OroB doesn't get ripe until late February / March in Danville. The Redblush I had to harvest because there were too many on the branch (looking like a grapevine) pulling it to the ground. The Redblush in years past has not colored up until July so I am waiting to see if this years' crop is the same. An alternate to the Oroblanco is Melogold... I can report back on those over the next week. Costco had dozens of Oroblancos last month... I might check their Concord Garden Center later today and report if I see some. BTW: I scored with a Rio Red on C35 earlier this week in Danville !!!! : - )
