Thanks OA, the wine goblets were DM. The doll is just a head so I turned the bowl upside down to get a different look. It must of worked.lol I've had her and the bowl for probably 30 years. Thanks Jane, The doll and bowl were purchased separately. I just went to the bedrooms and ended up grabbing them so I could add to my green and gold table. I just went in to my utility room and realized I still have the other gold dishes that I was planning to add to that table and now I've changed it out. I have a hard time keeping up here. There are several free patterns in the public domain that sound like they would be adaptable to what you want to do. I'll see if I can locate the links for you. One, I believe, is on Caron's site.

You might check with your local lamp store. They do make mats to put under lamps to prevent scratching. I have one I got years ago at a lamp store. It is black leather (ish)? with two small gold rings at the edges. They had black, green and burgandy and had three different sizes. I think they ran about $10 each. I have no idea where you can buy them online though.

Busy-Bee 3 and Kippy - The "doilies" you're referring to - the larger ones on the backs and arms of chairs and sofas - are actually called "antimacassars." Men's popular hair styles in the mid-to-late 1800s and early 1900s were dressed with Macassar Oil. Think gel, for men, old-school style. The macassar oil was oily and would stain fabrics, The industrious and clean women came up with the Anti-macassar to combat this problem in the form of large doily-type coverings to protect the backs of chairs from this oil. The antimacassars could be changed out often, washed, (and starched, blocked, and pressed ) and put back into service. Easy-Peasy! LOL Of course, the women's publications of the times jumped on the trend and came up with more and more doily, and antimacassar patterns. Doilies were typically used to place under items sitting on wood surfaces, or to be displayed for their own merits as decorative artwork.
