Gall Bladder
Comments (7)just wanted to see if anyone else has these symptoms. i had my gallbladder removed a year ago, but still seem to have some of the same symptoms i had before. i was also diagnosed with a hiatal hernia along with gerd. i have such intense pressure between my shoulder blades that radiates to my chest and makes it hard to breath. i have trouble swallowing sometimes and have had the acid that comes up and burns my throat while i've been sleeping and has awakened me. doctors don't seem very concerned and blow it off as if its just tension or a pulled muscle and want to send me to get a massage. i have this everyday and i pray it will get better with diet and exercise, that is my last resort. any advice will certainly be appreciated....See MoreGirl talk: Has anyone had uterine ablation surgery?
Comments (22)I had an ablation about 6 years ago. I had previously had surgery to remove a couple of fibroids and that helped considerably, but a year later I was still having bleeding issues and I had the ablation. (my doctor had suggested it at the time of the fibroid removal, but I didn't want to do them both at the same time). My periods didn't stop, but I discovered Light tampons, and only needed about 5 of them a month. I haven't heard of women having hormonal problems after ablation. I certainly didn't have any problems with my procedure, which was done with the balloon method. I had cramping for less than 12 hours, then felt fine. You do need to use birth control, because you can conceive, but there is no where for the embryo to implant without the lining, so a pregnancy could be dangerous. I think that it's important to know why you are having bleeding problems. For example,if you have fibroids like I did, an ablation isn't going to remove the underlying problem....See Moreprice of surgery to remove kidney stones?
Comments (16)Kidney stones are not that common. At least not diagnosed that often. I've had several cases recently because of cats in acute renal failure- I take rads for prognosis; stones in the kidneys are a VERY poor prognostic indicator. I'll bet a lot of older cats with chronic renal failure eventually develop kidney stones but it is never diagnosed because the owner and vet already knows about the CRF and when the cat no longer responds to everything that is being done, whether or not there are kidney stones is moot. The point being, you don't know kidney stones are NOT there unless you look. Bladder stones are not uncommon in cats....See MoreHave you had toenails removed?
Comments (10)Starting several years ago, I had an ingrown toenail on my right big toe. GP did the side cut thing, and that ended that problem. Then some time later the same big toe began to have cramping pains, and got so bad I saw the orthopedic. doctor, who performed a surgery called 'Keller bunionectomy" though I have never had a bunion. It is similar to a replacement, but not really. He noticed the toe next to the big toe was leaning in on the big toe and he removed that nail. That fixed that problem. Next I had my left knee replaced, and while I was recuperating, I was walking across the tiled floor in the bathroom, not wearing that shoe I was supposed to wear, and I tripped and broke the "little piggy toe" on my right foot. Doc said you can't "set" that tiny bone. Later had my right knee replaced. My spine, according to my Rheumatologist, is a "mess." I refuse to have any surgery on my spine. So over time, my feet and legs have become very arthritic, making it hard for me to trim my toenails. A couple years ago I had my ortho-doc to remove the toenails from both big toes. That has worked out fine. So as of now I have ten toes, but only seven toenails. My big toes now look like two little pink sausages! I have just recently decided to give up trying to twist around to trim those 7 nails myself, and I have located a shop near me where I can get my hair cuts, and the peddies. BTW, next month I start the steroid injections, again, to alleviate some of the spinal problems, which are currently preventing me from driving. That old saying that when your feet hurt, you hurt all over, .is for sure right. Good luck to all with similar problems. Sue...See Morelinnea56 (zone 5b Chicago)
