Francy & Robin, please make sure you either knit LOOSELY or maybe use bigger needles to knit with the Cascade Fixation yarn. If you knit tightly with it, the socks will be too tight to wear. Ask me how I know!!!!! Had I made the socks looser, I think I would have liked them, as I did wear them a couple of times. But they were almost too tight, so I quit wearing them as my feet swell. I, personally, don't care to work with that yarn again. It might not be so bad now, as I have learned to knit a bit looser that I did when I made that pair using the Cascade Fixation. You have to remember the elastic in the yarn won't stretch anymore than it already has if you knit tightly. If the yarn is relaxed in the stitches, then the elastic will still stretch. Am I making sense? It's 10:30pm and I'm tired! Tami

Sorry, I just saw there were more posts here about the socks. To robotropolis, the socks can get pretty hot. In the beginning of using them, it takes a few tries to get the right amount of time to leave them in the microwave to get the socks to the temperature that is most comfortable. If you put them in for too long, you can burn the kernels inside and you will smell them cooking. You want to put them in for less time if thatâÂÂs the case. Believe me if the socks are too hot, you will keep your feet away from them. And can push them to another part of the bed until they cool down a little. And I would think you would make that adjustment before you fell asleep. They stay warm when under the covers for a surprisingly long time. IâÂÂve never burned myself on the socks. We keep our thermostat down to 62 degrees at night with warm down comforters on the bed with flannel sheets. My feet are always cold and I usually have a sore muscle or two that appreciate the heat as well.

It's a reflection of my recent (last 2 years) love affair with federal style furniture. I bought this sofa and loveseat on CL and unloaded my grey velvet lawson sofa....also on CL. I'm on the fence about the ottoman but my dog loves it so....sigh. I live in a Victorian Cottage, ca. 1870, all the rooms are approx 13x13 with 12' high ceilings. The house is also 2 blocks from Main st. in our small town....small city lot.....lots of trees on the property but after going crazy with neutrals I now feel the room needs a little color....like green. Loving the Emerald green but a little scared of it too! I want it to pop but not scream lol! Having said that...I keep coming back to stare at that Como Emerald!

Clearly a "serious " topic...........I think we should morph to sheet storage. . I make ironed packets. Which simply means you iron/fold store to the way it looks when it came out of a sheet set PACKAGE when new, All nicely ironed/ folded/ tucked into the folded top sheet and ready to go on a bed. By way of full disclosure, I only do this for one set, the other is ON my bed lol - the ironed set goes in the linen closet in a lidded sheet box............................. ( the only part of this I loathe, is that damn bottom sheet with its elastic corners %$#*& ) If you ask why I do it? Gotta say they stay darn wrinkle free all week, and the bliss of ironed sheets is sorta very WORTH IT . HAHAHHAHAAHA yes, I iron with "clean cotton" linen spray. Heavenly. ( tip of the day, it isn't too arduous as the BEST SHEETS? LL BEAN 400 count italian percale. For those that hate the iron? these come out of the dryer beautifully ready for the bed. )
