200 TC 100% Cotton Muslin Sheets
Comments (9)I haven't bought these particular sheets, and they sound very nice. When I was a young bride, I didn't know a thing about thread count and I bought a sheet set which was either 180- or 200-count. They were impossible to sleep on; were unbearably scratchy, no matter how many times I washed them in mild detergent *and* used fabric softener. Finally, after about a year (we were living on a shoestring then), I broke down and bought more, making sure I bought a higher thread count. Oh, the bliss! Not long ago, I came across a fantastic deal - 100% cotton, 600-thread count sheets *on clearance* for less than $40 at BJ's (a warehouse store). Dear hubby and I were needing a set of sheets for our Q-size bed, so I grabbed them, LOL. They are absolutely luxurious. They do tend to wrinkle in the dryer, so I always get them out just as soon as the dryer chimes and either fold them to put them away or put them on the bed immediately. Dear hubby hardly ever notices anything like that, but he has commented on how nice these sheets feel. Unfortunately, I don't remember the brand name that was on the sheets; I wish I did....See Morecotton velvet sofas - pictures of your older ones?
Comments (22)I'm too lazy to redo it (I make beautiful big squares and rectangles...ie drapes and quilts LOL) and never attempt anything with curves heh heh Actually I really like the worn finish. Our walls have a bit of a soft rose copper (not pink or red really, but copper leaning towards rose verses orange if that makes sense). So the worn rose, which appears on camera more pink that it really is, looks great against them. There's a lot of the underlayment coming through (a taupy tan color) which softens the rose just enough to really work. I actually have two of these settes (they were on sale really cheap so we took them both). I plan on sending one down to the PT house for a bedroom as well. I forgot I was supposed to take pics and share the cat hair LOL (They're actually doing really well in that aspect). I'll have to see if the contractor is out of there so I can take them. I've had a crazy busy day with painters, window coverings and finally, finally...DOOR KNOBS!!!! All being done today. Door knobs..can you imagine the luxury? We've been without for three years LOL (Yes even on the bathrooms). I may just open and close doors all night...cuz I can heh heh...See MoreAnyone have Como Velvet? Happy?
Comments (1)I've used it and like it. It's a lighter-to-midweight upholstery fabric. There are thicker cotton velvets, but they are correspondingly more expensive. I did a chair in it that's held up nicely, even being one of the cats' favorite napping spot. This line has a very wide selection of colors, so it's a good chance you'll find exactly the color you need....See MoreNice quality velvet upholstery source? Velvet knowledge?
Comments (45)In the interest of keeping this thread alive, and in response (much belated) to orcagirl, I say this: do you have both fabrics to feel and look at in front of you? Which was more appealing? My own understanding (not yet the voice of experience) is that acrylics and acrylic blends tend to hold up well to regular use, do not stain easily/ ever, and are, as you noted, less expensive than many other fibers. In this sense, if you like the "hand" of the cotton/ acrylic blend option, you are unlikely to be any less satisfied by it five years from now than today. However, if you do NOT have both fabrics in front of you to touch, answering becomes much more difficult! (Also, as an aside to justerrilynn, I LOVE the way those little stools turned out! Wow!)...See MoreRelated Professionals
