Can't find potting mix for Earthbox anywhere!
Comments (6)Any potting mix that is peat based will work fine in an EB. I am not up to date on what MG is putting in their potting mix these days so can't really comment on that, but what you want is simply a peat based mix that has some perlite and vermiculite in it. This should be very easy to find anywhere in the US. Don't fret too much if it has some fertilizer added or water crystals as this won't matter much, just avoid mixes with compost in them as they hold too much water in a self watering container. Also don't use anything called a 'potting soil' as these usually have sedge peat or even soil in them and again, they hold too much water in a SWC. It has been a few years, but Wal-Mart used to sell a brand in a yellow/orange bag that was basically just peat, perlite and vermiculite that worked OK in SWC. I think they were/are called 'Perfect Choice' or something similar. That will work OK for you in an EB. Just don't get their potting soil as it is yard dirt with sticks and rocks. Those are usually in a smaller blue bag sold by weight rather than volume....See Moreseed wanted can't find anywhere!
Comments (4)I saw you joined GW in 2002... I know you have moved, but you are asking for seeds yet have nothing listed on your trade page to offer. I know that you are a long term member and realize that asking for free seeds is prohibited, and I am sure that you will either take advantage of many of the SASBE offers, or come up with something creative to offer in exchange. Glad you are back and want to become a contributing member! Kate...See MoreCan't find this anywhere
Comments (2)Hi Clare, I agree with Marcia, plain old Portland cement and fine sand works much better for a nice smooth finish, I also use her same measure 1-3. First make a small pile of damp sand, place a covering of plastic wrap over the sand then your leaf(start small), pat your wet cement mix onto the leaf just to the edges, then cover with another piece of plastic wrap (any brand). Let sit for 24hrs, turn the cement leaf over & remove and discard the actual leaf. Keep lightly misted and covered for about 7 days. Wear a mask while handling the dry cement, also rubber gloves, wet cement can make your hands very sore! have fun & Good luck! Wendy...See MoreDoes anyone know the brand of these lights? Comments (5)Looks like it's the Crosby pendant by Ralph Lauren - it's out of stock most places (that picture was posted on Instagram in 2018 so...) but maybe it's still available via the RL store...See Moreechoflooring
