Indentations in fingernails?

Just recently I have noticed indentations in all of my fingernails, both hands. I made a doctor's appointment, since it's time for labwork anyway, but read enough on the internet to totally confuse me - I take Effexor, Levoxyl for thyroid, and Lipitor for cholesterol and wondered if it might be a side effect of one of these medications. It has been a stressful time, (Katrina, father died, moved into new house last week), and maybe that's a reason. I can't see the doctor until December 7, so will just keep an eye on it for now, but wondered if any of you had experienced this?

Horizontal indentations or vertical along the length of the nail> The vrtical are a product ofa ging....and poor nutrition....a horizontal ridge happens because of a serious health crises...like surgery or a grave illness.

Hi wodka,
I have those. They do seem to appear after an illness or some big stress of some kind. I have fibromyalgia, so I have them about every couple of months. I figured out that my nails take 6 months to grow out, and I can tell from the indentations, when the illness/stress happened.
I'm sorry you've had such a rough time.

Probably not yet -- I would say at least 4 weeks at a bare minimum from the time the skin becomes too hard to puncture with a fignernail, although this timeframe will vary based on your climate, cooler taking longer. The longer you can wait, the better the seed quality and viability.

Hi, It sounds as if it is almost ripe enough. The skin should get very hard and not be able to get dented. The stem changing does indicate that it is almost ripe. Once it is ripe, cut it from the plant and then let is sit inside for about a month. This will help the seeds have a better germination rate. Just an FYI for anyone reading this, those squash are Cucurbita pepo variety. They will readily cross with any other C. pepo variety grown close by which will result in off fruit from saved seed. First clean up the banister and spindles - make sure they don't have any wax, etc. I would remove the carpet, and fill the bad dings in the stair treads. Don't use too much filler - it will make more work to sand down. Use a plam sander with 80 grit to sand down the filler and lightly sand the bull nose of the stairs. Follow up with 120 grit sanding. Vacuum everything and use a tack cloth, then stain the stair treads. Follow this with one coat of polyurathane. This first coat of poly will prevent any paint that might bleed from sinking into the raw wood. I would then mask around the spindles and risers, and paint them two coats. Finally, lighly hand sand the treads, vac and use a tack cloth, and give them 2 more coats of poly.

There is no safe way to remove it without damaging the finish. It needs to be sanded off or removed with oxalic acid (bleach). Dilute the heck out of the oxalic acid with water - 1/100. You may lose some sheen. If, you have extra boards, replace the boards. Metal shavings can come from anywhere. Cleaners will cause a chemical reaction, turning into rust spots. We had the same issue with a recent project. Removed masking tape from a dishwasher and applied a coat of Traffic HD. Next day black spots appeared in front of the appliance.

Thank you both for your responses. My lines are horizontal.....I'm hoping it's something that can be treated or controlled....as with everything in life, the unknown/not knowing is the scariest part.
