HRV help (along with natural gas fireplace)

Problem: too much condensation with recent ng vent-free fireplace. turned off fireplace and am using my oil heat until I fix the problem.

Question: If I install a HRV (heat recovery ventilator), will it solve the excess condensation/humidity levels?

If so, can I run the ng fireplace and HRV without worrying about any further problems/damage?

I do not have any condensation or high RH when running oil (hot water baseboard heat).

I figure while exhausting the stale and moist air and replacing it with fresh air, this will hopefully cure the ng fireplace issue.

The HRV will be a stand alone, will not be connected to any furnace applications.

I know, #1 mistake was the fireplace. I need to know if this will solve the problem or just make it worse over time.

Suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks
