Maybe take a look at the various Electrolux wall ovens, at least one full extension roller rack depending on model, Icon models have 3, lots of cooking features, lower price points,and well thought of by some here. Cooling fan noise lower than the lowest blower speed of a good exhaust hood. The full extension racks really are a convenience and safety benefit. I totally agree with what cawaps is saying about how wall colors look different from morning to night, and even season to season. I found this out when recently redoing my livingroom. I really struggled, and something I found quite helpful if by chance you had not thought of this and really do want to consider other colors, is to get big pieces of posterboard and paint them with the colors (sample sizes are totally worth the $) you are considering. (after you have narrowed it down to 2 or 3 at most). Then tape them to the wall, and move them around the room so that you end up seeing them at all different times of day, and in all different areas of the room. It is amazing how much variance there is. Even when I look at my LR in an instance, each wall is slightly different because of shadows. But this did help me pick the one I was most comfortable with overall. HTH And your kitchen is going to be gorgeous!

Well my opinion is that he is making judgements, not opinions. An opinion is a thought that can be supported by facts. If people say things, that cannot be supported by facts - then they are just being plain judgemental. Being judgmental, in my opinion, is not a good thing, it can lead to bigotry and mostly people are speaking out , because of some sort of emotion. In the example that you gave, about his comments about homeless people, that rings alarm bells to me. He is making unsubstantiated comments about helpless people and it shows that he is not capable of compassion and understanding. I would be concerned, if I were you about your future life with such a person, who doesn't seem capable of empathy and compassion and a clear understanding of the good values in a person. Please rethink you path in life.

My guess (because we have to resort to that) is the OP is on a slab and the cold is from less than great insulation on the slab side (or underneath). Code is relatively lax here and it isn't a huge energy problem but does become a comfort problem. We have hit some low temps in much of the US so it might be a relatively rare problem. To any poster mentioning insulation, HVAC or anything temperature or humidity related, it is really helpful to give location. As the desert of Oregon is very different than Miami. And Pheonix is very different than Rochester, NY. Here we need - location, foundation (type and whether conditioned), HVAC type. And, no, whole house humidification is absolutely not needed in most of the habited part of the US. Needing it is often a sign of excessive air leakage - in my area of the NC (all areas of NC).
