Doctors have this new idea that antidepressants can help with pain issues and that severe pain will obviously effect your mood over time, probably because you're always in pain and thats not a fun life. Even though their thoughts may seem a little far fetched at times. There is scientific backing to this one. Antidepressants help rebalance your serotonin receptors (serotonin is one of the chemicals our brain sends out to our body to tell us we feel good) so antidepressants tell your brain and body that you feel good. Taking a prescribed antidepressant may work for some. One of the major problems is with all antidepressants it takes at least 2weeks of taking it everyday for it to build up in your blood enough, just to see if it even works for u. Then if u decide it doesn't (side effects too bad,or no improvement) once u stop taking it it takes another 2weeks to get out of your blood. So, those 4weeks can be really bad. And everyone is different. Some of the side effects are worse then severe pain and depression, like suicide. Not good. I have found that taking Lotus flower tea is all I need. Nothing has to build up in your blood for u to feel it. The effects are instant and there are no side effects. And theres a great pain relieving property to it. Not that the above has anything to do with herbalism, but a couple of questions come to mind. What's the evidence that needleless acupuncture does anything to relieve eye twitching? What are acupuncturists charging for "benevolent humanity" these days? Responses will be appreciated.

'Do you have a study that shows that this works though, outside of your own experience. Our own experiences can be quite misleading, because we do not set our lives up in order to study, we set our lives up in order to live.' Well, actually as a part-time social worker providing counselling services especially to the in-patients of the government-funded psychiatric wards and other special-care nursing homes (of my own home country which is less-developed), me as well as the others would quite often face some really difficult problems gaining the trust, faith and confidence from those people that we are trying to help, particularly the ones whose Tardive Dyskinesia syndrome, especially the rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking symptoms have manifested for a long time (for months to a few years). Next, such people would tend to feel very much dejected, distressed and some times really aggressively frustrated over the physically incapacitating pains and afflictions that they have got no choice but need to live with to 'get on' with their miserable daily lives. So, out of the reasons of both sympathy as well as practical necessity to calm them down so that they will eventually 'listen to us', me and my other fellow social workers just recommend that suggested acupuncture method to them in the hope that it will ease their pains effectively. Luckily, the acupuncture technique that works out well for me actually turn out to be effective to them too and the successful cases just increase from time to time and these patients, having obtained reliefs from their Tardive Dyskinesia disorders (rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking) also subsequently feel very much relieved and are willing to co-operate with us in the efforts of helping them to live meaningfully and more healthily with ever-greater levels of sanity. Hi AuroraWA: You are right about the genetic factor which raise the risk of PD & plus more sensitive to pesticides. Not everyone is allergic to raisins like my kid, she has hay fever and many food allergies, which make her sensitive to pesticides. Raisins also has sulfur dioxide added as preservative. Sulfur dioxide is highest in yellow raisins, and that's her favorite for the past years. Thank God that my kid stops stuttering and neck-muscle-spasm after removal of raisins and dirty-dozen produce from her diet. Sam's Club, Walmart, and Trader's Joe all have organic produce at decent price. Genetic factor: if I have 1/4 cup of wine, I break out in rash rather than muscle-spasm. There's a genetic factor in Parkison's which makes a person more sensitive to pesticides.
